On the mysterious Eastern continent, besides humans and hot pot, there are also demons.
Human society has developed at breakneck speed, witnessing the evolution from primitive apes into civilized, well-mannered modern people. To prevent the demon (not) clan from being struck by (thunder) lightning, the demon bigwigs established the Demon Management Office.
The office oversees everything big and small in the demon world, from petty disputes over infidelity to major criminal cases. They can do anything, are everywhere, and fear nothing. They're the righteous sort, like police officers!
It's time for the once-a-decade selection of five-star workplaces. The office promises: “In a society ruled by law, we settle things with words.”
All the demons say, “Pah!” But their bodies are very (in)sincere and give it five-star reviews anyway.

One day, Heng Le, who had no luck finding a job, picks up an evaluation form for star-rated workplaces. Burning with righteous anger at capitalism, he gives every category a zero.
At midnight, an elegant, icy-looking man floats beside his bed, looking down at him with disdain. The cold radiating from him is enough to freeze Heng Le awake.
Early the next morning, Heng Le sits trembling in a chair at the Management Office. When he sees the sympathetic looks from everyone around him, grief wells up, and he covers his mouth and cries.
The good news is, he has a job now.
The bad news is, the job doesn't pay.

“I heard a human has joined the Management Office. Boss Zong dragged him here.”
“Oh my, he actually dared to offend that demon?”
“Exactly. I bet the poor guy's going to be squeezed dry.”
Zong Rong licks his lips, still savoring the taste.
It really was delicious.

Polite in words, violent in practice, utterly inhumane and lacking even a shred of demonic nature.

Once you're here, don't even think about leaving~
