Stealing a Moment of Joy

My upcoming novel, A Drunken Kiss on a Golden Bough, is open for advance follows. Take a look if you're interested.

Lin Yujie, as ethereal as an immortal

Married into the well-matched Wang family of Jinling

Unfortunately, her husband

mistook a fish's eye for a pearl, and trampled his proper wife, Yujie, into the mud

Zhao Xu couldn't bear to see Yujie suffer

and was determined to rescue her from her misery

People say that if you keep swinging your hoe,

there's no wall you can't dig under.

Zhao Xu gazed at the handkerchief Yujie had deliberately let fall

and slipped into her boudoir in the depths of the night

His fingertips gently brushed Yujie's lips

and coaxed her to drink a cup of fine wine

Then he stole away the cool, crescent moon

“Big Sister, from now on, I'll cherish you.”

When Lin Yujie learned that the Crown Prince was utterly devoted to her,

she considered rejecting him.

But the Crown Prince was both sweet and formidable,

and far better than her former husband by who knows how much.

Well...

Content warnings: older woman/younger man, younger male lead, no getting back together after a breakup

Blurb for the upcoming novel A Drunken Kiss on a Golden Bough:

Little Princess Zhao Fu fell in love at first sight with Xie Yuan, the newly named top scholar.

Riding horses along the bustling street, petals falling in the light rain,

a young man in red robes, elegant as an orchid and graceful as a jade tree.

In her previous life, she never got to marry him.

She watched with her own eyes as Xie Yuan became a rebel

and overthrew her family's dynasty.

The little princess perched atop a high wall

and rolled up her sleeves.

This time, she'd better try harder and learn from her mistakes in her previous lives.

First, she had to make sure she landed right.

Xie Yuan had known since childhood that he was a remnant of the previous dynasty.

For years, he had changed his appearance and studied hard,

all so he could top the imperial examinations,

enter the court, and reclaim the throne.

But his plan went wrong at the very first step.

Cloaked in the red robes of the top scholar, he had just ridden out through Xuanwu Gate on the imperial steed

when a soft, little golden bough suddenly fell from the sky.

The little golden bough timidly grabbed Xie Yuan's sleeve.

“Guanyin sent me down to marry you.”

Zhao Fu had rehearsed this scene countless times.

At last, she had won her gamble.

Theme: Live with all your heart and cherish every day.
