Even I, a Little Cat, Was Born in a Good Time

In her previous life, Chacha was the most beautiful and favored consort in the imperial harem, the emperor’s favorite.

But fate was cruel. When an enemy country breached the palace gates, she hanged herself from the peach tree outside her bedchamber.

Reborn, Chacha was adopted by Li Lu. She spent her days curled up on the bay window, gazing down at the Huangpu River through the glass.

She had food and drink, air conditioning and a fan, and even a phone to play with.

She’d never had it this good back then!

Meanwhile, Li Lu came home early and left late, even mumbling in her sleep about vicious things like “taking hold” and “empowerment.”

Chacha felt sorry for her: “Meow, I really was born in a good time.”

Li Lu grew up as a consummate overachiever.

She graduated from a prestigious university, joined the management of a major internet company, and became the ultimate 996 corporate drone.

She was so busy that her home became a hotel.

Every time she came home and saw the cat lounging around, Li Lu couldn’t help questioning herself:

Had all those years of hard work been for the sake of letting a cat enjoy life?

But the more urgent question facing Li Lu was this: did she really have to choose one between her top-student childhood sweetheart, her wealthy ex who spent money like water, and her sweet, gentle younger boyfriend?

Tips:

1. Two female leads: an overachieving corporate drone and a cat who lies flat. The cat will never turn into a human!

2. This story has been rewritten, so some of the earlier comments may no longer match. Sorry.

3. The corporate drone’s resentment runs deep, QUQ.
