Stepmother Nanzhen

[The premise may change. The final version will be the one in the published novel.]

Wen Nanzhen is transported into an ancient-set novel and becomes the cruel stepmother of its spoiled male lead.

In the book, the male lead is an idle wastrel, notorious throughout the capital for his dissolute ways, and deeply resents his stepmother.

His father holds a high official position and is shrewd and always busy. He pays no attention to his wife or children.

Looking at her meager dowry and remembering how the original Wen Nanzhen tried to drive a wedge between father and son, only to meet a tragic end, Wen Nanzhen decides she would rather spend her time making money.

So Wen Nanzhen happily sets out on the road to wealth, waiting for the day the male lead's father asks for a divorce.

She waits and waits. Even after the old man rises to the highest ranks and gains power over the court, he still hasn't asked. Instead, he voluntarily hands over all his assets.

Her stepson even declares that if she wants a divorce, he'll go with her.

Wen Nanzhen: ? This little brat must be after my money.

Male lead: ...Wow.
