Corpse Collector

[Complete. Thank you for reading.]

1.

The first time Ling Jiangye met Xia Bai, all he could see in him was the beauty of someone missing a brainstem. He couldn't understand how Xia Bai had survived the horror game.

Then Ling Jiangye was injured in an instance, looking like he was about to be buried at any moment. Xia Bai appeared out of nowhere, gazed at him with beautiful, earnest eyes, and swallowed nervously, his small Adam's apple bobbing. “Can I have your corpse?”

Ling Jiangye: “?”

Xia Bai tilted his head. One corpse after another appeared behind him, all staring hungrily. He politely asked again, “Can I have your corpse?”

Ling Jiangye fell silent.

Xia Bai and his companions were locked in a morgue by other players. A chilly wind swept the white sheets off the corpses around the room.

His companion: “My heart's beating so fast.”

Xia Bai: “Mine too.”

They exchanged a knowing look. His companion said, “One, two, three! Run!”

“Ahhh!” His companion sprinted for the door, eyes red with terror.

“Ahhh!” Xia Bai raced toward the corpses, his face red with excitement.

“...?”

Xia Bai was dragged into a horror game. The System said: [Scan complete. The player's soul skill is related to corpses.]

Xia Bai, who often dug up corpses to keep as family, glanced guiltily to the side.

The System said: [The player's in-game role is Corpse Collector. Your skill is Living Dead. We hope you'll be a good caretaker of the dead.]

The corpses behind Xia Bai grew in number, most of them players who had died in the game.

They gave him their skills and their bodies, protected him, and kept him company. Only then did he finally understand the original purpose and lifelong duty of a corpse driver, as his grandfather had told him.

“Travel a thousand miles, to send me home.”

New novel now available: Do Little Zombies Have to Fight to Survive?

The cute, human-looking little zombie Wen Qiao has been chosen by a survival game.

System: “You're the chosen one of your world, which is why you've been given the chance to join our survival game!”

Little Zombie: “Huh? Me?”

System: “By joining the game, you could win world-class benefits for the people of your world and rebuild your home!”

Little Zombie: “Huh? A zombie like me is supposed to win benefits for humans?”

System: “But be prepared. Our game is tough. Extreme cold and heat are just the basics.”

Little Zombie: “Huh? You're telling a temperatureless corpse about the weather?”

System: “And terrifying zombies may break into your home and chew your head off.”

Little Zombie: “...Maybe take another good look at what I am.”

System: “Besides all these exciting features, we've also put a lot of thought into the little details. There's an incredible variety of supplies, including over a thousand edible fruits and vegetables, not to mention all the meat...”

The little zombie sprang to his feet, his expression resolute. “I'm in!”

Wen Qiao accidentally joined a survival game spanning multiple worlds. In this supposedly brutal game, he wasn't a zombie whom everyone feared and despised. Nobody drove him away, and people from all over frequently sent him food.

Having experienced the warmth of humanity, Wen Qiao decided to raise himself as a human all over again. He chose the gentle, healing profession of a gardener, hoping to grow lots of delicious food, live in the warmest and prettiest house, wear the softest clothes, and earn lots and lots of money.

But
