The Allure of the Forbidden Palace

[Late-night rereading an idea I came up with years ago. On a whim, I want to write a classic, old-school palace intrigue story with no reincarnation.]

In the sixth year of Jiahe, after completing the mourning period for her grandmother, Liang Wanwan enters the palace.

Everyone in the palace knows that after Lady Liang enters the palace, Empress He, once the emperor's most favored consort, gradually loses his favor.

Her beauty surpasses every woman in the inner palace. Born into a noble founding family, she is gentle and mild-mannered, winning the emperor's affection until he raises her rank again and again.

Yet she feels not the slightest affection for the emperor.

Her grandparents have died one after the other, and her clan is gradually declining. She cannot afford to have any sincerity in the harem.

What does a devoted love matter? The emperor loves nothing more than the twelvefold affection she has painstakingly faked.

Theme: I just suddenly felt like writing this.
