In the original story, they included the domineering, childish, and arrogant Second Prince of the Empire; a human weapon who was refined on the surface but brutal inside; and a moody, dangerous, sinister member of the underwater royal family.

Every last one of them had the same label in Fang Qing's eyes: "troublemaker."

The unfortunate part was that Fang Qing was a conscientious student council vice president.

Two years before the story began, he had already gone after them again and again to make them behave.

Fang Qing: Is it too late to apologize to them now...?

Fortunately, though the process was a little rough, Fang Qing did manage to smooth things over with them, more or less.

The protagonist avoided the group of lunatics and grew into the person he was meant to be. Fang Qing's young master was about to achieve his dream unharmed.

Faced with the best possible ending just around the corner, Fang Qing felt that all his humiliation and hard work had been worth it.

But as Fang Qing sighed over how peaceful life was, did those lunatics seem to be looking at him strangely?

And was the protagonist looking at him a little strangely, too?

The Shen family brought home an illegitimate son from the slums, someone who was hardly fit to be seen in public.

As luck would have it, someone from the Gu family had an accident and ended up with both legs disabled. The once-coveted marriage alliance then fell to this illegitimate son, Shen Ru.

Of course, to Shen Ru, it was a match so good it made his ancestors' graves glow. If he was willing to quietly play the pretty ornament, he could have a comfortable life for the rest of his days.

But Shen Ru loved stirring up trouble, and remained hopelessly devoted to his crush, Senior Lin.

The Gu and Lin families had been enemies for generations. The only son of one family had a fiance who spent all day hanging around the son of their sworn enemy. It was a terrible look.

If Shen Ru had truly been going mad for love, people might at least have praised his passion.

But who didn't know that, behind everyone's back, Shen Ru was trying to get close to the head of the Yan family, while also foolishly taking it upon himself to discipline the Pei family's little tyrant? He managed to offend everyone in the process.

Cowardly and stupid, flighty yet easily bullied, he couldn't play both sides and ended up hated by everyone.

Everyone secretly watched and wondered when Shen Ru would finally bring about his own downfall and get thrown out of the family for good.

Shen Ru was wondering the same thing.

He was calculating when he could escape this life of working three jobs.

In the younger-man-and-older-man romance, Shen Ru was the stubborn parent who tried to break up the couple, an obstacle in the young lovers' path.

In the returning-white-moonlight story, Shen Ru was the scheming substitute who wanted to take his place, putting on a show of "but you're not him."

In the domineering CEO's redemption story, Shen Ru was the former fiance who looked down on the poor, there to highlight the protagonist's kindness.

Even the big shot Shen Ru had finally managed to latch onto to build his temptress persona was impossible to sway.

If the System hadn't been so easygoing, Shen Ru felt he would have quit long ago.

He dutifully and nervously went through three plots all by himself, just barely managing to avoid any serious mishaps.

Until one day...

When Shen Ru was supposed to run the plot where he ran away from home hoping everyone would beg him to return, only for no one to care and for him to end up on the streets, the few who had inexplicably become so hostile toward one another suddenly stopped picking fights and asked in unison:

"Where are you going?"
