When a Goofy Top Gets a Tragic Romance Script

Blurb One In the original plot, Chu Yichen, a musician with a tragic past and the script of a tearjerker, would grow increasingly twisted as fate dealt him one cruel blow after another, eventually becoming a ruthless villainous official with power over the court, willing to do anything to get what he wanted. But before he could become completely corrupted, Bai Kong, a goofy top who seemed to have wandered out of a farming novel, made a clattering entrance. And just like that, the plot went completely off the rails. Blurb Two At first glance, Bai Kong seems cold and heartless, like a lone wolf in the mountains. But after spending one night with Chu Yichen, a musician at the Entertainment Bureau, he turns into an obedient puppy of a wolf. He doesn't care who Chu Yichen is. He'll do anything for him, even if it means getting hurt or putting his life in danger. Everyone thinks Bai Kong is madly in love with Chu Yichen, and Chu Yichen thinks so too. Chu Yichen has a secret: he doesn't like men at all, and he really hates being called someone's wife. He puts up with it only because he's using Bai Kong to get revenge. He has never loved Bai Kong. Not once. But when he finally gets his revenge, Bai Kong dies helping him. Chu Yichen doesn't feel the relief he'd expected. He only stares blankly at the man's body as silent tears stream down his face. But Chu Yichen doesn't know that Bai Kong has a secret of his own. He's a monster. He came down from the mountain because he'd hit a roadblock in his cultivation. An old monster told him that he could take human form, but deep down he was still a beast who didn't understand humans, so he needed to go down the mountain and learn about human love. How? Find a wife down in the human world. The old monster explained all sorts of things about finding a wife, like being in love and having the proper betrothal rites. Bai Kong remembered just one thing: to marry a wife, you have to enter the bridal chamber, and entering the bridal chamber means sleeping together. Bai Kong: Got it. I need to find someone to sleep with. So, by a twist of fate, he shared a bed with Chu Yichen under the covers, with nothing happening. The next day: Bai Kong: Hey, wife. To stop Bai Kong from killing his new wife just days after the wedding, the old monster also warned him: Don't bite your wife. Don't fight them for food. In short, learn to treat your wife well, like humans do. So Bai Kong does whatever Chu Yichen asks. Even when Chu Yichen sends him on a mission with a one-in-a-million chance of survival, he goes without a word. Of course, a mission with a one-in-a-million chance of survival for a human is a piece of cake for Bai Kong. After helping Chu Yichen get revenge, his human identity happens to die, so he dusts himself off and returns to the mountain. The old monster asks if he's learned about human love. Bai Kong: I have. He tells him all about his time in the human world. Old monster: ...You haven't learned a damn thing. Much later, Chu Yichen finally realizes that when Bai Kong said he wanted to bite him, it wasn't a loving term of endearment. He simply really wanted to bite him. The way a wolf bites a rabbit :) [No groveling arc, and this isn't a tragic romance. At heart, it's a goofy top saving a corrupted villain, as two people who don't understand love slowly learn to love each other. A sweet-and-sour story with a touch of melodrama.] [Tagged as top's perspective only because the story starts from his point of view. Later, I'll write from whichever perspective feels right, so the proportions are unknown. But when he was eighteen, after failing the college entrance exam and going out to find work, he unexpectedly met a weasel delivering his admission letter. Jiang Yang excitedly grabbed the weasel's paw. “Why are you only delivering it now?” Weasel: “Because we use China Weasel Post.” Jiang Yang: “...” Weasel: “Just kidding.” For the first eighteen years of his life, Jiang Yang thought he was a pure-blooded human. Then, on his eighteenth birthday, he was suddenly told that he might have demon ancestry, and not just any ancestry, but the legendary bloodline of a Phoenix at the level of a Demon Emperor. Jiang Yang: “That sounds so badass, but why does it come out like a lighter when I use it?” Weasel: “Because you don't know the technique.” So the weasel introduced him to a teacher: the only Phoenix in the world before Jiang Yang came along. “You two are the only ones of your kind, so don't be strangers.” The weasel pointed to Lu Li and introduced him to Jiang Yang. “Just call him Daddy.” Jiang Yang: “...” Lu Li: “...” That was the first time Jiang Yang met Lu Li. He remembered how Lu Li watched him in silence for a long time that day. His handsome face seemed distant and aloof, but the red feather earring on his left ear added a few captivating touches of vivid color. Just as Jiang Yang thought Lu Li would refuse, he heard the man say coolly: “Call me Teacher.” A Phoenix sweeps across the sky on radiant wings of fire, leaving a thousand rosy streaks in its wake.
