The Witch Among the Stars

Humanity had only just entered the interstellar age, and faced powerful alien races with trepidation and caution.

Their technology was inferior, they couldn't transform into beasts, and they had no supernatural abilities.

So they had no say, and were discriminated against and bullied. When the Zerg attacked, all they could do was fight with their lives, then die under the aliens' indifferent gazes.

Until one day, during a live broadcast of a military academy entrance exam, a human nervously pulled out a little stick and recited an incomprehensible incantation.

And so, a terrifying Zerg was turned into a doll. Even though it lasted only a few short seconds, that was long enough for her comrades to kill it.

An hour later, the video went viral across the internet.

Humans: !!!

Legend has it that people who fail to awaken supernatural abilities can open the door to a mysterious shop. Inside is a witch who can make contracts.

When night falls and all is quiet, magic apprentices light a candle and wait for the witch to teach them.

In one such shop, the witch Mia smiled. "Would you like to make a contract with me?"

(Ahem, the transformation setting has been removed after readers said it was awkward and ridiculous.)

Theme: Have the courage to make a change.
