When Ghosts Start a Business

I never got a System while I was alive, but after I died, I finally got one.

The System is a shop-management game. Players start with a street stall, move up to a general store, and gradually expand into a shopping complex. Everything from products to shop decor can be purchased through the System.

The problem is that Jiang Xi is a ghost now, and the System doesn't accept ghost money.

With no other choice, Jiang Xi waits until nightfall, then squats on a night-market street with her starting stock and a piece of cloth. She looks thoroughly pitiful.

She makes no sales on her first night. As she wanders around in low spirits, she comes across an old man about to stage a fake accident. She lifts a foot and kicks him to the roadside.

The old man lands on his bottom, completely stunned. He looks up to see a girl standing with her hands on her hips. "Even ghosts set up their stalls properly. What do you think you're doing?!"

The old man immediately flops down and cries, "Ow, ow, ow!" When a kind passerby comes over to ask what's wrong, the old man points at empty air and says, "She kicked me..."

Passerby: ?

System: Merit +1. Shop's visible range increased.

Jiang Xi: Huh?!

Something like that is possible?!

So the stalkers, fake-accident scammers, and pickpockets all get what they deserve. Some get kicked over, while others get sleep paralysis from a ghost.

As more and more people notice Jiang Xi's little stall, her income gradually increases.

In the end, Jiang Xi is glowing with golden light, has recruited a ghost underling, and opened a supermarket.

The bad people in the area, meanwhile, are too scared to go out at night.
