What Are the Romance Novel Hero's Ex-Girlfriends Up To?

A question on a certain Q&A site with over 100,000 likes: What do the ex-girlfriends of romance-novel CEOs do if they don't compete for the male lead?

Top comment:

Thanks for the invite. I'm a totally unknown actress, and the first time I met the CEO male lead of a romance novel, I simply got into the wrong bed.

The next day, the CEO's ex-girlfriend slapped a million yuan down in front of me.

I get it. I'm not good enough for the CEO, so I should take the money and get lost.

But then his ex-girlfriend said, heartbroken, "Honey, use that money to get your eyes checked. How could you fall for a scumbag like him?!"

Ming Zhi had no connections or fame, just a pretty face, when she was sent to be with Qin Feng.

Everyone in the industry knew they were worlds apart.

One was a sweet, well-behaved newcomer, a minor actress who had just debuted. The other was a carefree, spoiled young master.

Before she entered the industry, she'd watched him change girlfriends one after another.

He liked women who were bold, sexy, and up for anything, while she was far too well-behaved.

Her agent drummed it into her: "Ming Zhi, he's only messing around with you, understand?"

Ming Zhi understood. He'd get tired of her sooner or later.

Later, when his ex-girlfriend returned from abroad, Ming Zhi watched him with a broken heart and choked out, "If what you give me is the same as what you give everyone else, then I don't want it."

She sniffled, then quietly added, "Cash doesn't count."

Qin Feng: ...

The day Qin Feng got together with Ming Zhi, his friends bet that the girl wouldn't last three months.

Qin Feng just smiled. "I'll be sick of her in a month."

Then came three months, six months, and a year.

After a banquet one day,

Ming Zhi sighed mournfully in front of everyone. "I know you're only messing around with me."

At that moment, everyone could see Young Master Qin's eyes turn red:

"You're about to mess me to death."

When a popular young actress was exposed as dating a young tycoon,

a bot appeared on Weibo: Has Qin Feng dumped Ming Zhi today?

A long time later, the young tycoon reposted that account:

"If my wife dumps me, you're the first person I'll kill."

* A carefree, sweet girl x a playboy who turns over a new leaf

* There will be a groveling-for-your-wife arc, but this should still be a sweet romance

* The entertainment industry is just a backdrop

* The title and blurb may change before the story starts
