Transmigrated as the most dangerous master in the cultivation world
Wen Chaoshen has a strict set of rules for life:
Don't eat strange spirit medicines, or you'll get pregnant right after.
Don't pick up a disciple with inner demons, or your butt will get torn apart.
I won't pick sword cultivators or talisman cultivators. Max out defense with magic treasures.
Let the senior brother take the spotlight. Keep a low profile.
I won't go into mysterious caves. Whoever goes in is an idiot.
I'll slack off during the war between gods and demons. If I can't win, I'll run.
I'm the most cautious person in the cultivation world. I'll keep my head down until I reach the immortal realm and retire.
So, on the first day of the Misty Gate's inner disciple selection, Chaoshen passes over countless little brats born with the Dao, with lovely, icy demeanors and overflowing spiritual energy, and chooses Pei Shu
It's you! Parents still alive, an utterly unremarkable constitution, and practically no presence!
It's you! My destined little disciple!
Later
Holy crap, I didn't raise the protagonist!
But I got myself a villain!

Wen Chaoshen knew the ending of this story from the start.
As a cannon-fodder master who bullied and tormented the villain from childhood, with a heart as black as they come, he would be run through the heart by the disciple he raised, right in front of every immortal sect, on the day the war between gods and demons erupted. His disciple would do it to save the person he loved.
Wen Chaoshen remembers that day, when he gave this sword to Pei Shu.
His disciple knelt before the door and vowed timidly, "Pei Shu will use this sword to protect Master forever."
He didn't dodge.
So he saw the look of utter horror in his disciple's eyes.
At the moment his soul dispersed, he thought:
If I get another chance, I won't pick up a villain again.

Pei Shu always thought his master treated him differently.
On the day he left the sect, he eagerly looked forward to seeing Wen Chaoshen's disbelief, pain, and regret.
Until he saw Wen Chaoshen holding the hand of his newly accepted disciple
Smiling and chatting just as he had fifteen years ago: "From today on, I'll be your master."
Only then did Pei Shu realize:
No matter how hard he tried, Wen Chaoshen would never care about him.
-An unofficial little skit-
On Pei Shu's first day in the sect,
Wen Chaoshen solemnly began his lecture: "What's wrong, young man? Have you reached the point where you doubt you're the protagonist? Relax. The Great Way is right beneath your feet. If you set out and never return, then, "
Pei Shu held his breath! His blood surged! He listened intently!
Wen Chaoshen spoke earnestly, then gave up. "Then don't go."
Pei Shu: ?
Wen Chaoshen muttered, shaking his head. "Isn't the whole point of cultivation to live forever? Why go somewhere you might not come back from? What's the point of cultivating if you end up dead? It's not worth it. Really not worth it. Tsk, tsk, tsk..."
Pei Shu: ...So this is Master's Dao!
#Don't teach the next generation of cultivators bad habits!!!!#
* Deranged villain gong x laid-back master shou.
* The skit is a meme substitute. The original meme comes from the internet and was my inspiration! Just giving credit!
* A goofy, melodramatic story. This time I'm really writing a melodramatic story!
