The Mysterious Power from the East

[Please follow my upcoming novel, Games in the Mirror. Synopsis at the very end.]

Feng Zhenmian is a cultivator from Qingyun Sect. After winning first place in the sect's grand selection, he earns an exchange student spot at a Western magic academy.

In his imagination, he would learn alchemy and the Great Light Incantation there, and maybe even grow angel wings and a halo, dazzling every disciple in his sect.

But in reality...

On his first day at the magic academy, Feng Zhenmian causes a traffic accident because he can't ride a broom properly, knocking a fellow student out of the sky.

On his second day, Feng Zhenmian mistakes a school ghost for a wandering soul and tries to sell the passing wizards talismans, a specialty of his sect. The discipline committee catches him in the act.

On his third day at the magic academy...

The nth time Feng Zhenmian is summoned to the office for a chat, he figures his exchange program is probably over.

As he wonders how to leave with some dignity, he stumbles upon a post that very night:

#Let's Dig into That Terrifyingly Powerful Exchange Student from the East#

Feng Zhenmian: ???

Feng Zhenmian is utterly confused. Terrifyingly powerful? Are they talking about him?

-

A mysterious exchange student from the East has arrived at the magic academy.

They say he knocked a duke's son out of the sky on his first day, took down the academy's big bad evil ghost on the second, and on the third...

As the Eastern exchange student's exploits grow more and more outrageous, everyone at the academy starts placing bets on what earth-shattering thing he'll do next.

Some guess he'll go take down the demon king in the Dark Forest. Others bet he'll torment the headmaster's favorite owl. But what no one expects is that this mysterious exchange student will steal the Elf King away!

The Elf King? Feng Zhenmian pokes the adorable little ball in his hands, completely baffled. Is it this lovely little cutie who cries beautifully and loves candy?

Note: The romance begins after the elf reaches adulthood. In its young form, it's a pet accessory (more or less like having a cat).

Warnings: 1. The pursuing lead is the focus, the pursuing lead is the focus, the pursuing lead is the focus. The great Eastern man will never be the one pursued.

2. They pamper each other, with the pursuing lead more doting on the love interest. Extreme character-loyalty fans, proceed with caution.

1.

The fog descends, and the uncanny returns.

All kinds of monsters overrun the city.

The water and power are cut off, food runs short, nuclear and chemical plants explode, and the city turns into hell in an instant. Humanity becomes playthings for the monsters.

To survive, He Zhiye has no choice but to take part in the so-called monster games.

At first, no one thinks He Zhiye will make it out of the monster games alive.

After all, his face is pale, he coughs every few steps, and he looks like an exquisite vase marked by fragility.

When they see He Zhiye picking flowers, teasing cats, drinking tea, and admiring the moon during the monster games, they become even more certain he won't survive the first one.

And then...

The first game, the second, the third...

It isn't until He Zhiye clears the final game and casually slices off a monster's head that people realize this delicate, fragile-looking sickly man...

Is actually a human weapon.

2.

He Zhiye gets a magical mirror from a monster.

It can't reflect anything and has no special abilities.

Its only good point is that there's someone on the other side of it he can chat with.

Their everyday conversations include, but aren't limited to:

Mirror: "No way, no way. Could someone really fail a game like this?"

Mirror: "It's just killing a monster. Isn't that easy as long as you've got hands?"

Mirror: "Don't tell me there's still someone who..."

He Zhiye: "Shut up."

Mirror: "Nope! Come hit me if you dare!"

On the day he clears the game, He Zhiye looks at the slowly opening door to another world and smiles. "I'm coming to find you, little mirror."

Shen Yiuqiu, the mirror: What do I do if the person I've been trash-talking crawls out of the mirror? I'm waiting for an answer. It's kind of urgent.

Theme: Friendly cultural exchange
