Shu Lanyu first saw Bai Qie at the freshman induction ceremony, on the podium.

The young, proud freshman representative stood tall like a magnolia. His jade-white face was elegant and pure, while the restraint collar around his neck looked like a mark of submission.

An omega from the backward Eastern District.

He'd be boring.

Shu Lanyu thought that impression would fade in an instant, but Bai Qie's cool, jade-like figure had already taken root in her mind.

So one day, she pushed open the door to the lounge.

Bai Qie first saw Shu Lanyu on the martial arts field during the freshman showcase. The dazzling rising star held the head of a beast in one hand, smiling with unrestrained confidence, her silver hair flying freely in the wind.

She was the image he'd yearned for in his dreams, the image of an alpha.

He saw her as the life he'd imagined for himself, admiring and envying her as he did everything he could to approach the altar that was her.

But when he finally made it to the school where the alpha studied, his dream shattered on the very first day.

She was indeed as capable as he'd imagined, and even more dazzling, but she was also promiscuous, crude, arrogant, and rude. Nothing special after all.

He hated that he couldn't tear his gaze away from her.

Later, when the lounge door opened, the reason of which Bai Qie had been so proud collapsed. In the chaos, he had no choice but to admit it: it wasn't that she was nothing special. He hated that she had never looked at him.

Admiration and envy were nothing but excuses.

They were excuses to pursue her, to pursue an alpha.

Reader's Guide:

1. The heroine is "fake promiscuous by design" (some elements are set in stone the moment inspiration strikes. The heroine eats a lot and has plenty of ideas, just not in this book). Her physiology is unusual, and she can give omegas friendly marks. She doesn't mark anyone she knows likes her. The main plot will avoid female-alpha and female-beta storylines (the author dislikes other orientations being mixed into the main plot), but the heroine is a universally adored heartthrob among male, female, and all ABO genders.

2. This is a private take on ABO. The sexual position is GB. The female alpha has an organ similar to a hyena's. I haven't researched the details yet, but the position is female-on-male. There may or may not be male pregnancy.

3. It may not appear in the main story, but this idea has been around for a long time, so there will be male pregnancy. One of the daughters is a beta (the female lead of a contracted story, though I don't recommend reading that one. It's poorly written and illogical, and only exists to fulfill the heroine's wish by involving a character connected to it).
