The Beloved Heir

Upcoming contemporary romance, Sweet Orange Ice: Coming soon!

Blurb:

After Kou Kou was found and brought back to the Grand Tutor's residence, she sat by her bed that night, heart full of joy, waiting for her parents until morning. But instead of their warm concern, all she received was a thin sheet of paper: a marriage contract.

Her mother rubbed her forehead and sighed. "Child, this engagement was arranged when you were still in the womb. Now that you're back, you should honor it."

On her wedding day, the whole household celebrated in a clamor. She sat quietly in the bridal sedan chair and vaguely heard someone call out, "Eldest Young Lady." Before she could think about it, the chair was lifted.

Her young husband was as gentle and refined as jade. He granted her every wish and cared for her devotedly. Until one day, outside the study, Kou Kou heard the man who had never once spoken harshly to her say in a voice cold as ice, "She's nothing but a discarded pawn. There's no need to care about her."

After that, she fell gravely ill, her life hanging by a thread. In her half-conscious dreams, she remembered their wedding night. He had taken her hand and gently turned it over, then said something that seemed casual but warmed her heart: "The bracelet on Kou Kou's hand is pretty, but it doesn't suit you. Tomorrow, go to the storeroom and pick one you like."

When she awoke, she shed her tender, pliant demeanor and handed Xie Wuyu a divorce agreement. Her eyes no longer held the dependence and longing of old. "Xie Wuyu, let's divorce."
