[Genshin Impact] Where's My Cheerful, Outgoing Diluc?

Anshuer has two childhood friends, one named Diluc and the other Kaeya. They're brothers, but only by adoption, not by blood. After all, one has fair skin and red hair, while the other has dark skin and blue hair. They're complete opposites.

These two are among the few people who don't mind how blunt he is, which usually means he has no social skills. Naturally, the two became Anshuer's good friends.

Things were more or less wonderful, until life took a turn for the worse: his two friends' father died.

Diluc was devastated, and Kaeya probably was too. I say “probably” because Anshuer didn't get the chance to see him. He saw Diluc looking first at his father, who lay on the ground, then at Uncle Crepus, a kind man who had always treated him well and never put on any noble airs. Then Diluc looked at Anshuer, and tears suddenly streamed down his face, startling him. Anshuer wanted to comfort him, but only belatedly realized he was probably going to die too. The dragon Uncle Crepus had defeated seemed to spit something at them just before it died. Anshuer had shielded Diluc from it, and now he too was lying on the ground, bleeding.

After that, he lost consciousness.

Honestly, he never thought he'd get the chance to open his eyes again. The people and scenery he saw when he did were all strange and unfamiliar: a blond boy and a little white-haired thing floating in midair?

Never mind, that's not important. First, he had to find his two good friends.

It took a lot of effort, but he found them. Except...

Who was this red-haired guy with the face of one of his childhood friends, wearing a sour expression and saying, “I'm afraid I can't spare the time for idle chatter”?

Where was my lively, cheerful Mondstadt Red Rose, Diluc?

1. The world looks different through the protagonist's eyes.

2. The protagonist is a native of Mondstadt.

3. See the novel title for the pairing.

4. The writing is awful and the logic is trash. Read at your own risk.

5. Updates are slow too. Unless I sign a contract, updates will be whenever I feel like it, so I won't sign one.

6. Comments are what keep me going (hint, hint).

Theme: A prodigal who turns over a new leaf is worth more than gold.
