[Genshin Impact] That's Why Shipping Really Is Harmful

I’m a thoroughly upstanding male college student, raised under the fluttering red flags. I consider myself to have sound values and good mental health.

I have a younger sister, my biological one. Lately, she’s been obsessed with a game called Genshin Impact and has been enthusiastically recommending it to me. Every day she sends me all sorts of Genshin-related videos from Bilibili, along with a stream of excited commentary. I’m forced to watch them, then continue to firmly but politely refuse her recommendations.

And then I transmigrated.

Yeah, it’s old-fashioned, it’s cheesy, and it came completely out of nowhere.

I transmigrated into the world of that game.

I kept my cool and told myself to go with the flow. I even consoled myself that I’d watched so many Genshin videos that I counted as a cloud player, so it probably wouldn’t be a big deal.

That was what I thought, until I slowly started meeting the game’s important characters.

So, Diluc not dancing and keeping a serious face feels really out of character to me.

Who’s Tartaglia? Tartaglia Duck? Wasn’t he supposed to be Snezhnaya’s idol or something? What’s a Harbinger?

Zhongli? Isn’t he supposedly so broke he never brings money when he goes out, and someone is always willing to pay for him? Wait, was that Tartaglia? So is this him being kept? This game gets that wild?

Damn, I shouldn’t have trusted my sister from the start. Has she been looking at all kinds of weird fan comics every day or what?!

?Pairing undecided, feel free to place your bets.

?The narration switches back and forth between first and third person.

?The protagonist can’t speak early on because he doesn’t understand Teyvat’s language. He’ll recover later, so proceed with caution if that bothers you.

?Very slow, very rough, written like an elementary school student.

?The author has no brain, so the plot is pretty slapdash.

?I just started playing the game, so there may be bugs. Corrections welcome.
