After summer vacation, a friend asks curiously, "How did you two get together?"

Yuan Yue smiles brightly. "Hey, have you ever read Alice's Adventures in Wonderland?"

Her friend is intrigued and keeps asking what a fairy tale has to do with it.

Yuan Yue pats the chubby orange cat sprawled inelegantly asleep in her arms and says softly:

"Because I, too, followed a guide into Wonderland, just like Alice."

The difference is, the guide she followed was an orange cat.

And at the end of Wonderland was Shi Jing.

But Shi Jing quietly tells her...

The end of Wonderland is a girl who shines brightly and has endless possibilities.

He's just a rabbit who happened to pass by, guiding her and keeping her company. He's lucky enough to witness a miracle born in summer.

"I like the wonderful person he is, and I also like the better version of myself that I became because I liked him."

"My feelings didn't put him on a pedestal. Instead, his sincerity and kindness helped me grow."

"I want to become someone like Shi Jing."

"No, what I mean is, I want to grow alongside him and head toward a wider, more beautiful future together."

The blurb draws on Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. The Wonderland here is about growing up and starting a new life, not a fantasy world.

The title comes from a song of the same name by Chen Qizhen. This story is also more about the characters' innermost thoughts.
