[Transmigration] I Became a Forensic Doctor in Ancient Times

Shock! The imperial inspector, tasked with overseeing the realm on the emperor's behalf, breaks into a private home at dawn, only to drag someone off to investigate a case with him?

He Yan, a former provincial forensic pathologist and now the silly son of a landowning family, looks at the man before him with a deadpan expression. Thanks for asking. I'm the one who got dragged off. Inspector Ye looks like a fine, upstanding gentleman, so why doesn't he act like one?

Ye Yu, a fine-looking, uncouth, stubborn old-school bureaucrat: ...I can't do this without him.

Having transmigrated into a wealthy family, He Yan only wants to be a lazybones this life. He never expected that an accidental courtroom confrontation would bring him and Ye Yu together, kicking off a chaotic career of being dragged into investigations. The cases keep getting bigger, and his rank keeps rising...

So why is that guy still haunting me?

Then He Yan discovers, to his dismay, that Ye Yu, whom he had thought was an ordinary official, is actually the reigning emperor's ninth son.

And what's more...

No wonder he wouldn't leave me alone!

"So it was you!"

Later

After the ninth prince ascends the throne, his first decree, drafted by He Yan, Minister of the Court of Judicial Review, orders every prefecture, district, and county to comprehensively reform the judicial system from top to bottom.

Later still

"Bite me again and I'll charge you with assault! I've got witnesses, physical evidence, and a confession. The chain of evidence is complete, and the proof is conclusive...!"

"The defendant is found not guilty."

Ye Yu pins him to the bed and chuckles softly.
