Gu Chen died with regrets.
In his previous life, he was a general who stayed clear of court intrigue and served loyally, guarding the border for the tyrant Xiao Tingshen. He never expected that, in the end, a single cup of poisoned wine would send him to the underworld.
Reborn, he returned to the year Xiao Tingshen had just ascended the throne. The previous emperor had only just died, and the realm was in need of rebuilding. Gu Chen had meant to kill the tyrant with his own hands, but unwilling to plunge the realm into chaos and bring suffering to the people, he had to suppress the urge. He figured it would be best to straighten out this crooked tree instead.
That evening, Gu Chen went to court, and Xiao Tingshen kept him for drinks.
After that, Gu Chen awoke on the imperial bed. Xiao Tingshen sat beside him, speaking gently.
"You're awake."
Gradually, strange rumors began circulating through the palace
"I heard His Majesty wanted to give Lord Gu that rhinoceros-horn brush washer, but Lord Gu turned him down."
"How many is that now?"
"Counting the gilt tray, the gold-and-agate bowl, and all the rest... must be over a hundred items by now."
"What do you think His Majesty is up to?"
The old eunuch folded his hands into his sleeves and gazed at the sky.
"Probably... trying to win someone over."
The usual one-on-one pairing, the gong dotes on the shou, happy ending
A fierce and violent gong who is gentle only to the shou × a gentle, thin-skinned shou with maxed-out combat skills. Both are strong.

The celebrated young Marquis of Wuan, Wei Lang, of the State of Zhao, discovers that someone has taken advantage of his beloved older brother!
The scoundrel tricked his brother out of his money, his body, and his affections, then vanished without a trace. His brother was so devastated that he fell gravely ill and nearly died.
Furious, Wei Lang swore to hunt the man down and beat him to death. But after an extensive investigation, he discovered that the scoundrel was none other than He Jingshi, formerly a hostage of the State of Qi and now its crown prince.
The guards around the crown prince's residence were as numerous as iron barrels, and He Jingshi himself was a formidable fighter. It was nearly impossible to get close to him. More importantly, relations between Zhao and Qi were delicate. Wei Lang couldn't just attack him.
Disappointed but unwilling to give up, Wei Lang pondered for days before deciding on an indirect path to revenge. Disguised as a stunning young male companion sent to the crown prince's residence, he would seduce He Jingshi, then dump him, making him suffer the heartbreak and misery of being deceived.
So, after successfully sneaking into the crown prince's residence, Wei Lang fussed over He Jingshi and waited on him hand and foot
"Your Highness, you must be tired. Shall I give you a massage?"
"No need."
"Your Highness, you must be thirsty. Shall I make you some tea?"
"Get out."
…
Wei Lang failed again and again, but kept trying. At last, He Jingshi fell for him. Not only did he confess his feelings, he decided to marry Wei Lang and make him crown princess.
With victory in sight, Wei Lang walked away the day before the wedding and left a letter, mocking and humiliating He Jingshi without mercy.
But halfway through his escape, Wei Lang realized he'd mistaken the man. He Jingshi wasn't the one who had taken advantage of his brother!
Worse, He Jingshi caught up with him just then, bringing men along. In a cramped room, the man's eyes reddened as he advanced step by step
"You deceived me, and now you think you can just leave?"
Wei Lang: ...
It was all a misunderstanding, really. Don't do anything rash! Just hear me out!!
A fiercely protective shou with incredible combat skills but absolutely no life skills × an obsessive, devoted gong and class monitor of the Gentlemanly Men Club
Theme: Keep a positive and optimistic attitude even in adversity.
No extras! Unreasonable! Are you afraid that I will have no rice?
I want to see meat ah ah ah
Reading such a simple little story is quite enjoyable.
Will there be any extra episodes? It feels a bit uncomfortable to end so suddenly.
I've finished reading it. The author's writing style is still a bit raw, but the second half is obviously much better than the first half. The pace of the previous plot is too fast. I always feel like one thing is finished in a hurry, and then the next thing comes. The last big plot of overthrowing the Queen Mother feels good, it feels a little like a palace fight, but the opponent is too weak. I hope the author can work harder~
After all, I forgot everything because of the tea [hahahahahaha]
It's okay, it's okay, I'll wait and see (sit where you are, stare)
Woohoo, there's no extra story~
It's so sweet that I almost cried. Damn it, why is this attack so considerate? It's so sweet.
So beautiful! Looking forward to the extra episode
