When a Rich Family's Butler Stumbles into a Love Triangle

Song Zhijie was a 996 office drone. One day, he died suddenly at his desk while working overtime. When he woke up, he found himself inside a wealthy-family romance novel, cast as the background character butler who helps the protagonist get together with his love interest.

Yes, the background butler who says things like, "It's been so long since the young master smiled like this," "You're the only person the young master has ever brought home for the night," and "I've never seen the young master treat anyone like this."

Song Zhijie smiled bitterly. So I'm still a lowly wage slave, huh...

Fine. What's so hard about reciting a few brainless lines and helping the leads get together? Being a background character isn't so bad. At least I'm better off than those protagonists, since this is a melodramatic rich-family novel full of physical and emotional abuse.

Song Zhijie calmly accepted his role and diligently played the part of an excellent background character. Main task: help the leads get together. Side task: buy a house and a car, save up five million, and retire in style.

But as Song Zhijie kept helping the leads, he noticed the way they looked at him gradually changing...

In the original story, the gloomy, sinister fake young master with a fierce thirst for revenge later becomes a business tycoon who makes waves on Wall Street. But after returning home, the first thing he does is trap Song Zhijie inside, keeping him there for seven days and nights...

The real young master, who was supposed to fall for his half-brother,

shows up at Song Zhijie's door one day. A crack appears in the mask of his polished, self-serving facade. His eyes red, he begs Song Zhijie not to leave with the fake young master...

And the original novel's protagonist, the top who shares an intense, torturous romance with the bottom, realizes his true feelings and leaves the bottom behind. All he wants is to keep Song Zhijie by his side, even if it costs him everything...

Reader's Guide:

1. Lin Guo, the fake young master, is the one true top. No switching or reversals.

2. They are each other's first love, with an eight-year age gap.

3. Early on, all three Lin brothers have one-sided feelings for Song Zhijie. Song Zhijie only develops feelings for Lin Guo after Lin Guo comes of age.

4. I revise my work often. Pirated copies are incomplete.

--- Upcoming Novel ---

My next novel will be The Scorned One Still Finds Himself in a Love Triangle at an American University. Synopsis below:

Jiang Chao transmigrates into a melodramatic danmei novel as a despised cannon-fodder character. The plot has reached the point where the protagonist top has lost interest in him and sends him abroad to study.

Jiang Chao: I'm doomed. I just got here and he's already sick of me. Will he keep sending me money after I go abroad? QAQ

Everyone knows that getting rid of a minor character is as easy as whipping up cream.

Even if Jiang Chao gets upset, all he'll do is walk away with his fluffy tail between his legs...

Other people study abroad to boost their credentials. He's being exiled to the ends of the earth.

But Jiang Chao never expected that studying at an American university would land him in a love triangle.

Bonus scene:

Jiang Chao is pinned beneath a tall, broad-shouldered man.

The man's icy blue eyes are as clear as the sea.

"Echo, have I ever told you that the first thing that drew me to you was your voice?"

Jiang Chao doesn't remember, but he knows he was drawn to the man's eight-pack abs.

They feel amazing to touch, ovo.

Jiang Chao feels the man's muscles tense. "Why do you say that?"

"Because your voice is so beautiful. I wonder if you sound even better when you cry out."

Their breaths entwine once more.

"Then shall we find out?"

Couple: Sunny, handsome Western heartthrob x cool, delicate beauty from the East

The top is currently planned to be an athlete. Early on, the pursuers have one-sided feelings for the bottom. This isn't a stock-picking story or an N-on-P story.

Theme: Everyone is the protagonist of their own life!
