The reason Red and Black Corruption stands out among all the management games is mainly its seemingly endless gallery of player endings and its utterly unpredictable plot developments.
Fall in love, build a career, fight a bloody battle between the red and black sides. The game offers tremendous freedom, and every choice affects the ending.
So even though the game is pay-to-win, and you have to spend money to refresh NPC data and start over, it still ranks first among games of its kind in player numbers.
Terashima Kazukiyo is an outstanding example of a player with too much money and free time and too little sense. He ranks first in the endings gallery, having unlocked 99 endings.
But! But! But!
That doesn't mean he can accept actually entering the game and becoming an NPC! He's never killed anyone, and in his daily life he barely interacts with a person or two. What's the first thing you do when you greet someone? Do you say, "How are you?"
Or, "You look familiar. Have we met somewhere?"
At least the game didn't leave him with absolutely nothing. He'd transmigrated with his gallery of 99 endings and a mission details page that was completely useless.
..."Damn," a kind of plant.
Now he wanted to die even more.
Whatever. It's just a full-dive game. He only has to collect a hundred endings. That sounds easy. All he has to do is treat them like NPCs. No problem at all.
A socially anxious person's pep talk to himself.
**
Of the 99 endings in the gallery, only one was an almost-failed ending that he had been forced to reach. The final struggle of a loser, a tragic ending in which the sincere trust he had placed in someone was repaid with betrayal.
Terashima Kazukiyo once had a one-sided online romance with an NPC in a game. His heart had skipped a beat across dimensions.
Everyone knew that if you chose the Black Organization's faction, then among all the subordinates with loyalties that were hard to discern, unclear motives, and plans of their own, only the operative known by the codename Gin would remain steadfast in his allegiance.
Terashima Kazukiyo knew that too. So when faced with someone who would never betray him, would complete every mission assigned to him, was someone he knew inside out, and was also a handsome, silver-haired, cold-blooded killer, his heart suddenly fluttered across dimensions.
But in the playthrough that made his heart flutter, he was betrayed.
He was betrayed by Gin, who everyone remembered as always being on the Black Side.
When the cutscene played and the silver-haired killer raised his gun at the player's portrait and delivered the classic line used by countless undercover agents, "You're under arrest. Don't resist," Terashima Kazukiyo almost thought he hadn't woken up properly and was seeing things.
Though in the end he used his years of gaming experience and the money he'd spent to achieve a faction victory ending, he felt as if his heart had died. Did it flutter? It sure did. It nearly got sent in for surgery.
Damn it, there was no such thing as sincerity in this world. Even in a game, everyone was a liar. Terashima Kazukiyo decided to be a cold and heartless mastermind behind the organization. He absolutely would not pay attention to a certain killer.
If he ran into that liar afterward, what should he wear?
Terashima Kazukiyo felt his social anxiety acting up again.
The CP is Gin.
The Black Side probably gets the victory.
Theme: Even when faced with adversity, keep reaching for the sun.
