I'm Both the Real and Fake Young Master

Chen Shu grew up in an orphanage. Because he was withdrawn and frail, the other children often bullied him.

But he never gave up on the will to survive. Even when locked in a cupboard, a handful of rusty stagnant water was enough to keep him alive, like a rat scraping out an existence underground.

-

Chen Shu went to the powerful Xie family in K City twice.

-

The first time, Chen Shu learned by chance that he was the Xie family's biological son. Full of hope, he brought them the DNA test results.

He only wanted to experience his parents' affection, but discovered that although they knew he was their real son, their hearts already belonged to the fake young master they had raised, Xie Ting.

His mother even slapped him, deafening him in his right ear, and said viciously, "What kind of stray are you? Don't think you can fool me with a piece of paper. Get out."

Even the household servants beat him hard with a broom, injuring his organs so badly that he spent more than a month in the hospital.

He had done nothing wrong, yet he was still the one who got abandoned.

Chen Shu gripped the hem of his clothes, furious.

-

The second time was after Xie Ting drowned.

Chen Shu borrowed money to buy the same clothes Xie Ting had worn, then impersonated him, relying on their similar faces.

"A Ting, you've finally come back..." This time, his mother held Chen Shu close, stroking his hair and fussing over him. The servants all knelt nearby, treating him with obsequious respect.

Chen Shu's voice was gentle. "Yes." But his eyes were dark as a blade hidden in the cold.

This feeling was simply wonderful.

Everyone thought Chen Shu was the one who had died. No one knew who he was anymore.

Chen Shu decided to keep playing Xie Ting, manipulating everyone as he pleased before bringing down the Xie family and renaming it the Chen family, carrying out the perfect revenge.

-

Everyone thought the Xie family's pampered young master had grown up overnight, becoming ruthless and cunning, unable to tolerate even the slightest flaw.

They all trembled before him, unaware that the heir had already been swapped for a cat.

-

At a party one night, Chen Shu was so drunk he could barely tell what time it was when he accidentally stumbled into someone's arms. The other man's chest was warm, his heartbeat steady and strong, like the tolling of bells at dawn and dusk from far away. It made Chen Shu's heart itch.

He lifted his eyes and saw a tall man with sharp, dark eyes. The man tucked a thorny rose, dotted with blood, into his breast pocket.

The man let out a soft laugh, yet called him by name without hesitation: "Chen Shu."
