On the first day of school, Xu Weixiao is outside the supermarket with his buddy, who is smoking while Xu Weixiao eats candy.

As they talk about yesterday's five-game losing streak, a boy in a blue-and-white school uniform comes out of the supermarket. He suddenly stops and turns to look at Xu Weixiao. They hold each other's gaze for five seconds. Xu Weixiao looks baffled, and just as he's about to ask him something, the boy leaves.

His buddy teases him: “Damn, your eyes are practically making out. Xiao, do you know that guy?”

Xu Weixiao watches the back of the boy's head and scratches his own. “No, but he's really pale.”

His buddy turns around and looks him up and down. “Well, you're really dark!”

Xu Weixiao kicks him. “Get lost!”

Plot 1

At the sophomore-year sports meet, “the school's number-one hype man” Xu Weixiao is either on his way to compete or on his way to cheer on a classmate. “The sideline support specialist” Li Yuxi's only event is writing announcements. His biggest task is carrying things or handing out water.

Later, Li Yuxi gets injured while filling in for Xu Weixiao in the long jump. Xu Weixiao has no choice but to stay with him, but when he sees his buddy about to compete, he tries to go cheer him on. Li Yuxi grabs his hand.

Xu Weixiao: “They can't do it without me!”

Li Yuxi: “I can't do it without you.”

Xu Weixiao: “You sprained your ankle, not your brain.”

Li Yuxi: “My heart's broken, because of you.”

Xu Weixiao: “Li Yuxi, stop attacking me with cheesy pickup lines!”

Plot 2

When Xu Weixiao is hospitalized for appendix surgery, his older sister, Lin Weimiao, brings him a pile of BL books and comics. Xu Weixiao is speechless. His sister says they're for her to read, but that he should learn some dating skills too.

Xu Weixiao snaps, “You learn how to date from danmei comics? What is wrong with you?”

Lin Weimiao looks innocent. “Yeah. I got together with the hottest guy at school.”

Xu Weixiao's face darkens even more. “...” Wow, thanks a lot.

Bored out of his mind, Xu Weixiao picks up a book at random and starts reading. Li Yuxi happens to see him when he comes to visit.

Xu Weixiao's face turns bright red. “Li Yuxi, don't ask.”

Li Yuxi smiles. “Okay.”
