The Evil God Pretends to Be a Savior

[Substantially revised after completion; differs considerably from pirated versions.]

Good news: The human world has been at peace for a thousand years.

We have me to thank for that.

Thank me for dying a thousand years ago :)

Bad news: Happy now? I'm back~

The evil god executed a thousand years ago is about to revive, and monsters and demons are running rampant.

Countless people are dragged into the evil god's nightmare realms, where survival is a long shot.

The Godslayer Academy, dedicated to fighting the evil god, is recruiting more students.

One day, the academy interviewed a frail, pitiful young man.

The youth said timidly, “I-I'm here to pick up trash QAQ”

The admissions director: “...Well, we deal with slaying gods and killing ghosts. People can die doing this.”

The pitiful one: “Th-then I guess it's the right career for me QAQ”

After all, everyone here is trash :)

Word has it that the hottest topic in the nightmare realms lately is a certain many-faced, nameless, unscrupulous con artist.

The victims were outraged:

Student A: “He rescued me when I was desperate, then pretended to be an NPC and conned me the whole way! What a liar!”

Passerby B: “He claimed to be my boss, ransacked all my magical gear, and made me wait on him the whole way! What a liar!!”

NPC: “He threatened us, saying that if we didn't obey, he'd have the evil god curse us. What a liar T T”

Big Shot D... “Shh. The con artist clearly has a grudge against him. He scams him, stabs him, robs him, and even kisses and gropes him to tease him!”

And yet this very con artist saves countless people in the nightmare realms, time and again miraculously shattering the darkness of the evil god's arrival with thunderous force.

Everyone: “He must be the savior sent by heaven! He's our hope in the fight against the evil god!!!”

When the evil god revived, everyone watched as the frail young man stood alone against the world-destroying sacrificial array. The mighty wind billowed through his bloodstained robes.

Then they saw his slender figure pierced by countless arrows, perishing alongside the evil god.

Everyone mourned the dead in unbearable grief, until they discovered

The savior... had become the evil god?!

The youth flipped a coin and smiled with delight.

“The Godslaying Game begins now. Good luck, everyone.”
