Roses Kissed Barcelona

Joey, a fifth-year architecture student whose hair is falling out from stress, transmigrates into the nineteenth-century Spanish Rose Princess.

That is, the kind forced to flee after the royal family collapses.

So Joey begins her daily life as a princess on the run.

Siemens is short on funds? Invest!

Barcelona doesn't have a football club yet? Build one!

While Madrid's throne changes hands, Joey watches the drama unfold in Barcelona, makes angel investments, develops wasteland, and nags people to update.

That's right, nags them to update.

To an architect, seeing the unfinished Sagrada Familia is like seeing Dream of the Red Chamber abandoned with forty chapters left.

And the culprit is right there, skipping class, delaying his updates, and neglecting his work.

Joey raps the table furiously. "Antonio, don't forget you still owe me designs for three villas and two exhibition halls. If you don't hand them in, can you afford to pay me back?"

Young Antoni Gaudi blinks his blue eyes innocently. "I can't hand in the designs, but I can offer myself. Your Highness, do as you see fit."

Joey: "..."

The times are turbulent, and storms sweep across Europe.

Yet a small Mediterranean port gradually transforms from an obscure town into the Rose of Europe.

The Rose Palace stands atop Montjuic, facing the Sagrada Familia, designed by the same architect.

As everyone knows, it is a gift for his beloved.

For a princess fallen into the dust, the creator of Iberia's pearl.

She needs no coronation to be glorious. This city is her most dazzling crown.

People call her the Rose Princess of Barcelona.

The genius architect whose twelve works are listed as World Heritage Sites smiles faintly. "She is my princess."

Centuries later, a mischievous child climbs to the pinnacle of the Sagrada Familia and discovers a yellowed letter in a weathered crack in the brickwork.

"To my dearest princess:

I have always believed that straight lines belong to humanity, and curves belong to God. And I will always belong to you."

After returning from the post-apocalyptic wasteland, all you want is to be an ordinary corporate drone, the kind with paid vacation.

Every month, there are a few days when you become weak and powerless, with no choice but to take sick leave.

Disasters tend to happen in the city on those days.

But a masked hero always appears to save people, so it has nothing to do with you.

Your boss always messages you while you're on sick leave. "Xiaojiu, are you there? Are you there?"

You reply forty hours later, "What's up?" He responds instantly: "Nothing, it's handled. Get some rest. [smile]"

Your new supervisor dismantled an elevator with his bare hands. Terrifying.

But he drives you around and pours you tea despite his dark circles. When you spit cherry tomato juice all over him, he sighs and gives you another one.

Oh, and he's handsome. (Very quietly.)

Life as a corporate drone is peaceful and uneventful, until a masked hero's cape turns up at the company and you discover...

"█hungry#?@god... no██devour... save███!!"

Never mind.

Everyone takes such good care of you. It's another lovely day. ^^
