We Agreed Our Reunion Was Just an Act

[The story went a little off the rails, so I'm revising it. The new opening date is undecided.]

Six years after their professional split, award-winning actress Fu Xing unexpectedly reunites with her former manager, Xiang Shijia, now CEO of Tianhang Entertainment. Amid the clinking glasses, they both smile and chat as if their past grievances had never existed.

As the event ends, rain begins to fall again. Fu Xing is standing beneath the eaves, lost in thought, when a black umbrella suddenly moves over her head. A familiar female voice asks softly, "Instead of going to all that trouble to find ways to get more exposure, why don't we... try getting back together?"

After a pause, the ever-elegant and self-possessed manager adjusts her glasses and adds, "Of course, it's only an act."

After a fierce internal struggle, Fu Xing ultimately agrees to Xiang Shijia's proposal and joins her on the hit variety show Partners with the Boss. When it airs, the fans react like it's New Year's, flooding the internet with clips and fan edits of their every sweet moment.

Three months later, Xiang Shijia drives to the set late at night to visit Fu Xing. When Fu Xing looks at her in confusion, she coolly explains, "I heard you have a kissing scene tomorrow. I came to act this out for the sake of our CP fans."

The next morning, Fu Xing emerges from the bathroom after being forced to wear a lip mask for half an hour, then shoots a skeptical look at the person in bed.

Xiang Shijia: "Don't look at me like that. I checked the script. You have three kissing scenes with her, and I... only kissed you once."
