Their days of sticking together through thick and thin, amid endless chaos and bickering, went on and on.

At first, Xiangli Jing only wanted Fu Yuluan to sit around at home as a pretty ornament. Later, he found himself always stepping in front of her, shielding her from hardship and keeping her safe and happy.

Fu Yuluan, too, began to think her playboy husband had finally gotten his act together. Seeing him protect her was truly moving.

She cleared her throat. “Husband, I was wrong about you before. No one compares to you.”

Xiangli Jing tenderly took her hand. “And you, my lady, are the gentlest woman in my heart.”
