Building Infrastructure Starts with the Fief

Blurb 1: Lin Zhao transmigrates into an old-fashioned novel he read the night before, becoming a doomed heir with his own fief.

In the original story, he doesn't even survive the first three chapters. After his death, his fief is seized by foreign tribes, and the people are left homeless.

Remembering the tragic ending, Lin Zhao looks up at this impoverished little city.

It's just infrastructure development. What could a modern man like me possibly be afraid of?

In an age of great upheaval, if you don't kill others, they'll come to kill you.

So he makes money, builds up troops, grows food, opens mines, smelts steel, and builds schools.

Lin Zhao: "I educate the people so I can reason with you. I teach them martial arts so you can reason with me."

Shall we talk this out?

In the first year of chaos, warlords stand everywhere, and no one pays any attention to that shabby, remote little city.

By the fifth year, the ambitious warlords look on in horror. Oh no, how did this little city end up controlling half the realm?

The people, meanwhile, are overjoyed, because they've heard that following Young Master Lin means having food to eat!

Lin Zhao never expected that, though he planned to keep well away from the original characters, he'd go out one day and bring back the story's greatest villain.

Villain: "How about a look at the undefeated general who wins every battle?"

Heads-up: There isn't much in the way of conquering the realm. The story focuses more on infrastructure development.

The blurb may be revised.
