[My next novel, The Little Husband from the Prefectural City, is coming soon. If you're interested, take a look at my author page~]
After two years in the apocalypse, Lu Jing had earned countless merits with his formidable abilities. In the end, he worked himself to death for his country, only to unexpectedly transmigrate to another world.
Lu Jing: "...I don't want to work hard anymore. I'll just give up."
So he bought a rundown house in the mountains, hunted now and then to trade for food, and lived by one principle: Whatever. Just don't starve to death.
The old doctor who had saved Lu Jing died unexpectedly, entrusting him with the care of the little ge'er he'd adopted. The little ge'er lived alone and was harassed by thugs and layabouts. With no other choice, Lu Jing took him in.
The little ge'er was always careful and considerate toward Lu Jing. He did the laundry and cooking, kept the courtyard tidy, lit a lamp for Lu Jing after dark, and mended his clothes when the weather turned cold.
Lu Jing told him not to fuss and to just get by. He softly objected, "I can do all these things."
Lu Jing: "...Whatever. Do what you like."
Later, Lu Jing suddenly realized that he couldn't live without this gentle, adorable little ge'er anymore.
Lu Jing: "...Honey, look at me."
Watching the little ge'er work himself to the bone doing chores and earning a living, Lu Jing finally stopped slacking off.
He gave up on drifting through life and started working hard to earn money and support his husband.

Xue Yun had been born into wealth, but a sudden disaster brought him to Qingxi Village. He was literate and exceptionally handsome, yet the villagers whispered that his background was dubious. Even when he reached marriageable age, no one came to ask for his hand.
Xue Yun was glad to have some peace and quiet. He spent each day gathering herbs and treating patients with his grandfather, living a poor but tranquil life.
When his grandfather died, Xue Yun tried to make it on his own by gathering herbs, but a thug followed and harassed him. Fortunately, he was saved by Hunter Lu. With no other choice, he moved in with him.
Feeling that he was a burden to Lu Jing, Xue Yun put Lu Jing first in everything to repay his kindness. As they spent time together, he gradually fell for him and became even more attentive and caring.
Lu Jing unexpectedly made a name for himself in the village. Young women and ge'ers who wanted to marry him came swarming, and everyone waited for him to get engaged to Xue Yun and kick him out.
But as they waited, Lu Jing turned down every marriage proposal and then married the very Xue Yun they all looked down on.
The young women and ge'ers of the village gritted their teeth, convinced that Xue Yun had used some seductive trick to ensnare Lu Jing and that Lu Jing would soon grow sick of him.
-
Later, the two built a business that reached all across the land. Lu Jing still doted exclusively on Xue Yun, and many villagers beat their breasts in regret that they hadn't claimed Lu Jing sooner.
Lu Jing: "They all want to marry me, but I only want to cuddle with my darling."
Xue Yun: "..."
A laid-back-at-first, career-focused-later, gentle and cunning top who works hard to support his husband x a hardworking, adorable bottom who has endured a tragic past
Reading guide:
1. The top slacks off because of trauma from his time in the apocalypse. He loses interest in life, but gradually heals after finding someone to care about.
2. Both are each other's first love. There will be a baby later!
3. They save each other. The bottom gives more at first, then the top spoils him. Readers with strong preferences should proceed with caution.
Updates daily. Thanks for reading~
Coming soon: The Little Husband from the Prefectural City. Please add it to your reading list~
A city-born ge'er came to Liushan Village.
The little ge'er was exceptionally beautiful, with bright, expressive eyes and delicate, jade-white fingers, yet he was so poor he could only live in the dilapidated old house belonging to the Zhong family. He also had a sick mother to care for.
The villagers all said the little ge'er had done something wrong and been kicked out by the Zhong family. No one wanted anything to do with him, and the families of eligible young men sternly warned them not to let him seduce them.
The first time Pei Mu met Zhong Yizhu, he was washing clothes by the river.
He used soapberries as if they cost nothing, yet didn't even know how to rinse the clothes clean. He looked like a fool.
The second time Pei Mu met Zhong Yizhu, he was gathering firewood in the mountains.
His dazzlingly white hands were already covered in scratches and cuts. When he saw the wild fruit in Pei Mu's basket, his eyes lit up. He asked with a smile if he could trade some firewood for a couple of pieces of fruit.
Pei Mu looked at the half-dry, half-damp firewood in his basket, tossed him two wild fruits with a stony expression, and strode down the mountain.
The third time Pei Mu met Zhong Yizhu, the slight little ge'er was standing in front of his house, his tightly pressed lips bloodied.
His voice trembled, but his tone was strangely calm.
"Pei Mu, will you marry me?"
·
The little ge'er from the prefectural city married Pei Mu, the village's dreaded bad omen, leaving everyone in the village stunned.
By the little river at the end of the village, women and ge'ers washed clothes together and gossiped about the neighbors. They had especially endless things to say about the Pei family, at the eastern end of the village, who had recently held a wedding.
Everyone in Liushan Village knew that Pei Mu was a menace who had caused his own mother and grandfather to die and survived a wolf attack. Even his own father was afraid of him and didn't dare live with him.
Later, when the imperial court conscripted soldiers, several men from Liushan Village went, but only Pei Mu came back alive. The fortune-teller at the village entrance declared that the boy had a hard fate and that everyone else should stay away to avoid being cursed by him.
Everyone secretly thought the little ge'er had chosen a path to certain death. With skin so soft and delicate, he would either be cursed to death or beaten to death by Pei Mu.
It was only a matter of time.
With a thud, a huge basin of clothes and sheets was set down on a rock by the river. Everyone turned and saw Pei Mu, the village menace, and instantly fell silent.
Pei Mu didn't spare them a glance. He simply crouched down and began scrubbing the clothes.
Everyone exchanged astonished looks and hurried to wash faster. In the end, the village head's wife worked up the nerve to ask, "Pei Mu, why are you washing the clothes? Where's Zhuge'er?"
Pei Mu carefully scrubbed the green robe in his hands. After a long pause, he replied in a cold voice,
"It's cold. He can't take it."
After Pei Mu finished washing and left, everyone by the river burst into chatter.
This is unbelievable. The village menace has been possessed by a ghost.
Later, Pei Mu and Zhong Yizhu's life together grew better and better, and the couple's relationship made everyone envious. Only then did the villagers come to their senses.
He hadn't been possessed by a ghost at all. He'd simply fallen for someone.
Theme: Live earnestly and heal each other.
End of the story~ I really like the protagonist's character and emotional line in this article. The plot line and villain supporting characters are a little weak, but overall it's my favorite type. I wish you better writing!
Finished reading! It's just too short!
Finished reading it in one sitting! ! ! ! Nice! !
A heartwarming story with a brisk overall pace~
The ending of "Spreading Flowers" looks great
Spreading Flowers, it's beautiful, I'm looking forward to the next one too.
I prefer the first half, Life Literature yyds! The revenge part at the end was a bit simple, but overall I enjoyed reading the whole article!
This ending is really funny
I finished the chase in one go, spread the flowers, spread the flowers, spread the flowers, spread the flowers
