Synopsis 1: From the receiver's perspective
Meng Yunqing is the pampered young master of a wealthy family, doted on since childhood.
When he first started college, Meng Yunqing developed a passion for growing pretty flowers and plants. No matter what he did, though, they wouldn't survive. So his father, who spoiled him beyond all reason, immediately hired a plant expert to take special care of them.
They said the expert worked at the most renowned plant research institute in the city. At first, Meng Yunqing assumed the man would be a balding middle-aged fellow.
When he saw him in person, Meng Yunqing almost thought his eyes were playing tricks on him. The expert wasn't balding at all. With his thick hair and refined, gentle manner, he radiated charm from head to toe. He was absolutely gorgeous.
But the expert tending his little garden was so aloof. No matter what topic Meng Yunqing tried to bring up, the man responded with barely any interest.
The more he was rebuffed, the more Meng Yunqing wanted to flirt with him.
Until one day, the expert pinned him to the swing in the little garden and kissed him.
Kissed breathless, Meng Yunqing couldn't help reaching for his hand.
"Don't touch my hands. I just finished potting the seedlings, so they're covered in dirt."
Synopsis 2: From the giver's perspective
As a plant expert devoted entirely to his research, Cheng Songhan would rather spend all 365 days of the year in the lab. He never imagined he'd end up tending the little garden of a college student. It was a ridiculous waste of his expertise and resources.
But scientific research needed funding. All he had to do was help with some flowers, and the young master's father promised a massive investment for their research institute.
Seeing the hopeful looks on everyone's faces at the institute, Dr. Cheng Songhan agreed, abandoning every bit of scholarly dignity he had.
At first, though, he really was just there to grow flowers. He had no desire to say a word to that young master. He had no patience for spoiled, pampered rich kids like him.
But the little rascal was simply too persistent. Young people really did have boundless energy. No matter how many cold shoulders he got, he kept smiling.
And so, the aloof Dr. Cheng went from reluctantly tending the young master's garden to doing it willingly.
"This rose is called Louis XIV. It's beautiful, and the colder the temperature, the darker its petals get, like black velvet. It's just as captivating as you are."
The young master held the deep purple, velvety roses in his hands, his eyes shining with delight.
"Do you know what they symbolize?"
"What?"
"You're the only one I love."
[Sunny college student x mature older man]
[There's a ten-year age gap between the giver and receiver. If that bothers you, please don't read.]
Theme: Hard work leads to success.
His father should be given more of a role. The mistress should be given the advantage. His father should be tricked. Zhou An is not his child, so he will regret it for the rest of his life.
Ahhhhh, I hate Zhou An so much
To be honest, I'm really upset. Why didn't Zhou Yun get retribution for his actions?
