My Mortal Enemy Is My Own Disciple

In his previous life, Xi Wanlin secretly studied demonic arts and tried to stop his sect leader senior brother from ascending to immortality at the Ascension Platform, but his actions were exposed. His young disciple, Wei Jinghui, whom he had taken in himself, led the immortals in killing Xi Wanlin on the spot and reducing his body to ashes.

But Xi Wanlin never expected that even after being reduced to ashes, he could wake up again.

He was reborn as a forsythia flower spirit.

Meanwhile, he himself became the ill-omened god of human rumor. There was even a statue of him kneeling by the roadside, and people claimed that spitting at it three times would dispel bad luck. The picture-book shop by the road sold nothing but illustrations titled "The Immortal Wei Slays the Demon Xi."

Xi Wanlin watched all this in silence. Then he looked up and saw Wei Jinghui hacking his kneeling statue into splinters with a sword.

Since everyone hated him so much, Xi Wanlin decided to kick the bucket and return to the underworld. Wei Jinghui stopped him. "Help me with my investigation, or I'll use you to make tea."

Come to think of it, he had done countless evil deeds in the past. The only person he had wronged was this disciple he'd taken in on a whim.

Devoted but clueless top (Wei Jinghui) x wild, unrestrained, and unhinged bottom (Xi Wanlin)
