Cats, Boys, and Sonnets [Interstellar]

The fourth-magnitude star designated NGC228 was a textbook barren planet.

There was no water, no oxygen, no conditions necessary for carbon-based life to survive, and not even a survival base that met the Federation's latest standards.

Those facts alone were enough for Meyer to name this barren, rocky planet the most unlucky place her ship had ever crash-landed.

She thought she would die here alone.

But what Meyer hadn't expected was that, amid the endless sand and blue storms, she would find a cat.

Oh, no. A boy with cat ears.

...How did such an unbelievable story come about?

It probably all began on the seventeenth day she spent wandering the barren planet.

"Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?

Thou art more lovely and more temperate.

Thy eternal summer shall not fade,

Nor shall Death claim thee within his shadow.

So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,

This poem shall live, and give thee life."

Shakespeare, Sonnet 18

Theme: Romantic to the very end
