Five Thousand Nine Hundred Miles [Hong Kong Style X Marriage Before Love]

[No inspiration for the original blurb, so it's been replaced.]

[Flash marriage / marriage first, love later / no feelings before marriage / light Hong Kong vibe]

-

In the summer when she was twenty-seven, Wu Yuzhu married Fan Rongsheng of Hong Kong's Fan family. They had known each other for barely a month, and the wedding was only their second meeting.

After the wedding, Wu Yuzhu continued living in London, while Fan Rongsheng traveled back and forth between the two cities. She would sometimes return to Hong Kong for a while, too.

Their parents on both sides had plenty to say about this, but Fan Rongsheng himself seemed quietly pleased.

In the second year of their marriage, Wu Yuzhu took the initiative and proposed moving back to Hong Kong for an extended stay.

Much later, Wu Yuzhu brought up the subject herself.

Fan Rongsheng simply smiled faintly. "I know you're waiting for the day you're certain, the day you're certain our marriage isn't held together by mutual benefit alone."

He lowered his head and kissed her forehead, gazing down at her. "Luckily, I lived to see that day."

Many people thought Wu Yuzhu had married Fan Rongsheng for the sake of their families' interests. That was true, but she had also married him because he met her standards for a partner.

And the same was true of Fan Rongsheng.

"People outside think Winona and I married purely for business. I won't deny that was part of it, but my wife is an exceptional woman, and it was only too easy to fall for her."
