Prepublication blurb: Record of Tengyun Street (1990s)
Now publishing! Interested readers can check it out next door.
The youngest child is the apple of the family's eye. Liu's father was the youngest son and doted on since childhood. When he married, he got the largest two-bedroom apartment in the whole building.
Back when other people still lived in homes with cement floors, he persuaded Grandma Liu to pay for renovations and tile the floors.
When his daughter needed to go to school in the county seat, he made a fuss about splitting the family and secretly building a house there!
Liu's mother was strong-willed, fashionable, and cared about appearances.
Whenever she heard the neighbors in the opposite building bragging, she'd chase Liu Qianwen around and beat her till she wailed, her hair standing on end from her daughter's antics!
Whenever anything didn't go her way, Liu Qianwen threw a tantrum. She was the queen bee at kindergarten and Grandma Liu's darling at home.
Malted milk, giant chicken legs, White Rabbit candies, and Pupu Star snacks all went to Liu Qianwen! Her cousins drooled with envy, and her aunt seethed with jealousy!
Liu Qianwen had always gotten everything she wanted, but after moving to the county seat, she met her first real rival in life: Zhou Jialang!
Zhou Jialang was the kind of kid other parents always talked about, and the object of admiration for the children of Tengyun Street. P.S. Not for Liu Qianwen.
Scene One
Ever since moving to Tengyun Street, the person Liu Qianwen hated most was Zhou Jialang, who lived in the building across from hers. He was the class monitor, and he got a perfect score in every subject on every exam.
Whenever she heard Zhou's father praising him across the way, she knew the sound that followed would be her own yelps as Huang Qiuju beat her: "Ow! Ow! Ow!"
Before the final exams, Zhou Jialang found a note in his desk: Get another perfect score and I'll have someone beat you up!
Zhou Jialang fell silent...
From a corner of the classroom, Liu Qianwen watched Zhou Jialang looking "scared" with smug satisfaction. Now her mom wouldn't have an excuse to beat her up!
Reading guide:
1. The early chapters focus more on the parents' perspectives. After the setting changes, the story mainly follows Liu Qianwen.
2. Liu Qianwen's lively everyday antics. The heroine is a bit of a handful in the early chapters.
3. Both leads are sexually inexperienced, childhood friends, happy ending.
4. The everyday life of Tengyun Street, full of warmth and an ensemble cast.
5. The male lead appears around chapter ten or later.
Blurb:
Song Chuntao is an eighteen-year-old unmarried woman. The village aunties all say she's studied herself silly, has too much pride, and will never find a husband!
Just as the Song family was worrying about finding Chuntao a match, a handsome educated youth arrived in the village. But this young man wasn't strong enough to carry heavy loads or even lift a basket. He looked like such a waste of food that no one would even want him as a live-in son-in-law.
Later, everyone in the village found out that Song Chuntao had carefully considered her options and chosen to marry that skinny educated youth! Good grief! These young women only care about a pretty face right now, not what the future holds!
When other couples started dating, their first gifts were either Baochailin moisturizing cream or a little wildflower.
But the first gift Chuntao received was a basket full of golden apple snails!
Blurb two:
Years later, a hot search suddenly appeared: "Love Aid Foundation," with a "Hot" tag beside it!
The next trending topic was: "Heavenly Beauty Yu."
A passerby thought some unknown foundation had been exposed for embezzling donations under a secret identity. Without looking at the next topic, they clicked into "Love Aid Foundation" and read the comments first:
Top comment one:
Heavenly Beauty Yu fan account: "Waaah! Why is my girl trending? I don't want so many people seeing how beautiful she is!"
Argue-With-Everyone-Including-Myself: "OP, this is obviously about a foundation! Where did this girl come from?"
Concerned Citizen Ms. Zhang: "Click the OP's profile and you'll find her. (Grinning)"
Top comment two: Like this to knock that ridiculous number-one comment down.
Top comment three: (Picks nose) No, the comment above isn't ridiculous. Yu Yu runs the Love Aid Foundation. It's not your fault you've never heard of it, because the foundation doesn't accept outside donations and never promotes itself to the public.
After reading all those comments without figuring out why the foundation was trending, the passerby went back to the top and watched the video carefully.
The video had been put together by an amateur as a tribute. Some photos were clearly very old, with blurry faces. Still, the passerby could tell it was a long-established charity foundation that had started out helping impoverished students and later focused on helping girls.
They looked at the comments again and learned that the video had also started trending because people were taken with the current director's looks.
Reading guide:
1. Both leads are locals, with no golden finger. They won't become fabulously wealthy, but are content with a comfortable life.
2. Both are sexually inexperienced. The heroine is bold and direct, while the seemingly delicate hero is cunning.
3. Happy ending.
4. Two updates a day, at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
5. Cantonese slang will appear, with explanations.
Theme: Build a better future together
Very familiar dialect, hahahahahahaha
My cousin also calls her parents uncle and aunt, but that's because of the maternity policy, and she can't recognize her parents even if she has them.
Queer!! I liked it very much when I was a child
It's great to have dialects. Even though I can't understand them, there are annotations and very life-like dialogues.
After all, the background is in a mountain village, and the existence of dialects is more reasonable. How good~
Spreading flowers and spreading flowers is also known as Cantonese, and it has its own characteristics with a touch of dialect.
There are a lot of dialects. I can't understand it. I'm a little confused after reading it. It could be less.
Great writing! Come on!
Hahahaha, you must be from Cantonese, so familiar Cantonese
After reading this book, I am really making great progress, and my writing is getting better and better. Hope it gets better and better.
