Surviving the Apocalypse: Building a Shelter

Three days before the apocalypse arrived, Cheng Yao had a dream. Its contents were fragmented and chaotic, impossible to make sense of. After waking, she couldn't remember the scenes, only the fear and a rough description of the plot.

A friend joked that she had aphantasia.

While out shopping, Cheng Yao witnessed a car accident. She also overheard people complaining that the hospital had recently received many patients with similar symptoms, and saw a passerby suddenly come down with a "terrible illness" and get taken away by ambulance. Then she suddenly remembered how often she'd heard ambulances in recent days...

Something felt wrong. Some fear deep in her heart seemed to be screaming at her: Stock up! Stock up! Go home! Go home!

She immediately ended her lease and bought a ticket home. At the same time, a chime rang in her mind.

"Congratulations on awakening the Apocalypse Survival Shelter System. Please choose a residence to bind it to and begin renovating your shelter!"

After a rain of black water, people thought the arrival of zombies meant apocalypse movies had come to life. But before long, strange mutations and disasters struck as well, and the world could never return to what it was.

Many people awakened supernatural abilities amid the upheaval. Some flaunted them everywhere, some took advantage of the chaos to rob others, and some set themselves up as kings.

While the world outside descended into chaos, Cheng Yao spent every day rebuilding her survival shelter to meet the needs of the apocalypse, doing her best to help herself and her family survive.

Disasters and mutations, monsters on the attack: the whole world is swept into a survival game.

Chen Zhizhou unexpectedly obtains a business System, which automatically binds a nearby train car as her initial place of business.

After weighing her options, she disguises herself as an NPC, sells supplies, recruits employees, and keeps completing System missions to upgrade the train.

After the apocalypse arrives, the land and air are polluted, water is scarce, plants and animals begin to die out, and resources dwindle rapidly. People can barely survive by exchanging their survival game's System points for goods.

The only food available for exchange is mud cakes and insect cakes, along with lightly polluted water. Everyone lives in a world of despair.

Then, to everyone's astonishment, they discover an NPC operating a train. There, they can buy clean water and food, and as more customers arrive, the train can be upgraded to sell unpolluted plants, animals, weapons, purifiers, anti-infection medicine, and more.

Most importantly, it is unaffected by monsters and disasters. It is an absolutely safe zone!

Everyone is deeply relieved. They carefully protect this lucky train and save up points, hoping to get a sleeper berth as soon as possible.

Thanks to the train, one person after another is saved. New shelters and defensive walls are built around its route.

Later, people use the train to rebuild their cities, and the apocalypse is no longer so terrifying...

Everyone sincerely thanks the train and the kindhearted NPC who is always aboard. They build statues and monuments in their honor, and earnestly invite the NPC to visit the human world.
