◎Blurb:

The first time Yan Qiuqiu met Lin Xunzhi was when she went to the countryside to spend the summer.

The boy was tall and handsome as a green bamboo. His face left her completely smitten, so she decided to stay and study there.

The countryside was so much freer than the capital! Yan Qiuqiu climbed trees to raid nests and waded into rivers to catch fish with her cousins. In her free time, she'd visit the Lin family to see the handsome boy, supposedly for tutoring. She thought she'd beg her mother to arrange a marriage once she graduated from the village school!

When her mother heard about it, she gave her a sidelong look. "You silly girl, it's the man who goes to ask for a woman's hand. When you chase after someone, do you know what that's called?"

Yan Qiuqiu: "What?"

Her mother: "Being boy-crazy."

Yan Qiuqiu thought it over. Being boy-crazy was fine. If she couldn't win him over, so be it.

But when Lin Xunzhi really did reject her, she was still heartbroken for quite a while.

Still, what did it matter? Once two years were up, Yan Qiuqiu would return to the capital and be a little princess again!

At the Qionglin Banquet, the brilliant top scorer, born into poverty, attracted a throng of noble families eager to recruit him as a son-in-law.

But the top scorer looked toward the high platform. "Qiuqiu."

Yan Qiuqiu lifted her chin. "You've mistaken me for someone else, sir. I'm Princess Lin'an, Yan Shuyi."

Lin Xunzhi had known from the very beginning that Yan Qiuqiu was no distant relative of the Ruan family.

She was snow atop a mountain, the moon in the heavens, the treasured pearl of the Prince of Huai'an's household, and a noblewoman whose skirt hem he had only barely managed to touch after ten years of hard study.
