When Kings Meet, Neither Bows

[Power couple / Entertainment industry / Scheming, celibate movie emperor vs. carefree top-tier star]

Everyone knows that movie emperor Qi Zhizhen and top-tier star Bai Ziqiu are completely incompatible.

They debuted in the same boy band, and after it disbanded, they were always at each other’s throats. In the few photos of them together, Qi Zhizhen is gripping Bai Ziqiu by the collar, their foreheads pressed together. It looks intimate and suggestive, but they’re actually about to fight.

This wasn’t something fans made up. Bai Ziqiu said it in an interview.

At the time, he was lounging on a sofa and said lazily, “Qi Zhizhen? We really don’t get along. The paparazzi caught us right after we’d had a fight.”

Soon after, Qi Zhizhen became a trending topic.

The dignified, reserved man sat in his car, watching Bai Ziqiu’s interview. His expression was impossible to read.

No one knew that these two, often called rivals who could never share the spotlight, had once shared a stretch of warm, ambiguous breaths on a dark, rainy night.

The night they broke up, Bai Ziqiu had said, “You’re not going to be a sore loser, are you?”

He really couldn’t handle losing.

For many years afterward, Qi Zhizhen schemed carefully and advanced step by step. His one and only goal was to bring this heartless man back, lock him by his side, and find out what color his heart really was.

Bonus scene:

After they got together, Bai Ziqiu gave another interview.

Reporter: “Those photos of you and Qi Zhizhen together back then, were they really taken after a fight?”

Bai Ziqiu looked relaxed. “Yes. The fight was our breakup.”

That night, the trending topics crashed, and #QiZhizhenBaiZiqiuBackTogether filled the entire list.

When they got home, Bai Ziqiu was terribly anxious. “What do we do? Everyone knows we used to date.”

Qi Zhizhen held his chin and kissed him fiercely. “You finally admitted it.”
