A casting poll for a 3S+ dating show jointly produced by Penguin and Fruit TV suddenly shot to the top of the trending charts.
The reason was simple: the show wasn't casting anyone itself. Instead, netizens would each cast one vote for their favorite couple, and the four pairings with the most votes would become the show's guests.
As soon as the announcement went out, the whole internet erupted. Fans of the pairings set off firecrackers to celebrate and worked hard to rally votes.
Meanwhile, individual fans wailed and called on people to vote for other pairings to keep their idols from being selected.
When the top-voted pairings were finally announced, the trending page crashed for half an hour.
In the show's preview, the cast was asked: Why did you agree to join this show? With your status, you don't need the exposure.
Lin Wan: The pay is good.
Zhou Du: The pay is good.
The production team: ...

At first, netizens said: This pairing is cursed. What blind person voted for them with their eyes closed? Even a dog wouldn't ship them.
Later, netizens said: Production team, don't make us get down on our knees and beg. Hurry up and release the full footage. What could we possibly be forbidden from seeing as VVVVIPs?
After the show ended, the netizens went wild shipping them and waited for an announcement that they'd gotten together. The stars themselves gave no hint of anything.
Just when everyone was about to give up, a video spread like wildfire online.
By the side of the road, Zhou Du had one arm around Lin Wan's waist as he leaned his head toward her to talk. Tucked in his arms, Lin Wan played idly with the buttons on his shirt.
Zhou Du didn't get annoyed when he saw her playing with his buttons. He lowered his head with a smile, held her tightly in both arms, and pressed his lips to her forehead.
As soon as the video came out, Weibo crashed and netizens went crazy.
Later, Zhou Du posted: Stop spreading it. The one at home is embarrassed.
