Tell Me You Love Me Before Takeoff

Fu Yushen, the “top aircraft maintenance expert,” is a legend in the civil aviation industry.

With a single touch, he can tame the unruly beast that is the 787.

Yet despite having the face of a top-tier star,

he has always been an impossible target for the news media.

He refuses interviews and has no interest in women.

Wei Xuan is a reporter. Though she works at one of the country’s top media companies,

she always gets the assignments her superiors don’t want.

For example, when Minghang was about to go public, they invited a renowned female reporter to experience life as a cabin crew member as part of a publicity campaign.

In the end, the exhausting assignment, with no real news value, was dumped on Wei Xuan.

Wei Xuan has never been one to admit defeat.

She chewed on her pen as she studied the aircraft maintenance manual, learning every repair procedure.

Then she worked alongside the maintenance crew through downpours and snowstorms.

Until one day, a female reporter who had been waiting to see Wei Xuan make a fool of herself stared in shock

when she saw Fu Yushen sitting beside Wei Xuan.

It was the first time he had ever made an exception and agreed to an interview.

He wore a simply tailored black suit, its collar crisp, his air refined and cool.

Faced with dozens of microphones, Fu Yushen lowered his lashes

and repeated the reporter’s question in an unhurried voice: “What do you think of Reporter Wei?”

Wei Xuan’s pen suddenly stopped. She found herself holding her breath for no reason.

Then she heard him slowly say two words.

“I like her.”
