The Spoiled Playboy Claims the Slender Waist

Before the Rong family fell into decline, they were a well-known and respected family among the nobility of Shengjing.

Their three legitimate daughters: the eldest two both married high-ranking officials and became their principal wives.

Only Rong Lanyu had the misfortune of being forced to marry the playboy Zhou Hanzhi when the Rong family lost influence.

Word had it that Zhou Hanzhi was a hopeless drunk who lived a life of extravagance and debauchery.

He would spend every last coin as soon as he earned it, and his mansion was so impoverished that it was practically bare.

Everyone thought Rong Lanyu would soon become a worn-out old wife.

Her two elder sisters watched coldly, waiting to see her make a fool of herself.

Yet nobody expected that, just half a month after the wedding,

she would gently and tactfully send Zhou Hanzhi's pack of drinking buddies on their way,

then methodically turn the empty Zhou estate into a prosperous and elegant household.

And the playboy Zhou Hanzhi changed along with her, rising step by step until he became a powerful minister.

Everyone thought Rong Lanyu had won Zhou Hanzhi's heart and saved him.

But Rong Lanyu knew she had only done what a good wife should.

In truth, Zhou Hanzhi was the one who taught her how to live freely,

and the one who shielded her from the storms raging through the whole city.
