Eighteen-year-old Jian Xin, a student at an interstellar military academy, gets a call from her mother.
She learns that her "fiance" will be picking her up from school tomorrow.
Fiance???
Since when did she have one of those?!
After class the next day,
the always-crowded school gates are unusually quiet. A gigantic, strange-looking aircraft takes up the entire road.
A man in a dark green uniform leaps down from the aircraft, his tall figure casting a shadow over her. His tousled brown hair falls across his eyes. He blinks his beautiful brown eyes, takes her hand in a white glove, and places a light kiss on its back. "Come home with me."
What a handsome man...
Wait,
why does he have two antennae on his head?!
Eek~ Jian Xin bolts. She hates the bug race more than anything!
The very next day, Victor becomes Jian Xin's deskmate.
She soon discovers that although he's imposing and taciturn, he's not very bright and has to ask her about all sorts of things.
Luckily, she's a warm-hearted person, and the two of them grow close as time goes by.
At a banquet, a tipsy Jian Xin puts an arm around the person beside her and boasts, "Victor, stick with me from now on. Big sis will look after you."
"Okay." The man's eyes shine, and the antennae on his head sway bashfully.
Later on,
Jian Xin realizes she's not as bothered by antennae as she used to be.
They feel nice to touch, and if she gives them a pinch, she gets to see a handsome man blush...
"Victor is so cute."
"Victor, big sis loves you."
"If any of you dares lay a finger on him, I'll kill you."
Until one day,
Jian Xin makes a bet with her friends and flies alone to the bug race's territory to secretly take a picture of the Bug Emperor.
Through a half-open door,
she sees the vast council hall filled with bug elders, sitting in neat rows.
The young Bug Emperor sits at the center, his back straight as he announces the implementation of a new law in a cold, emotionless voice.
Jian Xin is stunned: Isn't that her adorable little Victor?!
