Not Abiding in Any Form

Gu Xun and Xie Yubai slept together for two years. Every weekend, they spent time together, watching movies, sleeping together, and having Gu Xun cook for Xie Yubai.

Gu Xun had always thought he and Xie Yubai were in a relationship, until one day Xie Yubai told him, "Don't come over anymore."

Gu Xun didn't understand. He just stared blankly for a moment, smiling foolishly, his eyelashes curving upward.

"Why?" he asked.

"Because there's someone I want to seriously date now." Xie Yubai lowered his eyes and said calmly, "It wouldn't be appropriate. He'd be upset."

Only then did Gu Xun realize that Xie Yubai had never thought they were seriously dating, and had never considered him his boyfriend.

So what was he? A housekeeper? A tool?

Later, he met Xie Yubai's boyfriend once. He seemed like a nice guy.

Gu Xun was broad-minded. He even started wondering if he had caused Xie Yubai a lot of trouble. After all, a solitary person like Shen Du must have found it painful and difficult to put up with Gu Xun's clinginess for two years.

Gu Xun soon worked things out, stopped feeling sad or holding a grudge, and threw himself into a new life, meeting new people.

But Xie Yubai wouldn't let him.

He grabbed Gu Xun in the lobby of a resort hotel, stopping him from going upstairs to meet his new boyfriend. They tugged at each other, making quite a scene.

"Gu Xun," Xie Yubai said, his voice choked and his eyes red, "Do you even have a heart?"

Gu Xun smiled in that same half-dazed way, then asked politely, confused, "...Who are you?"

On the day he met Xie Yubai's new boyfriend, Gu Xun erased every memory he had of him.

Xie Yubai is the top, Gu Xun the bottom.
