Young General, Loyal Dog-Like Top x Fatherly, Beautiful Minister Bottom
(My next novel, Eastward Inclination, is coming soon! Childhood friends growing up together, relying on each other. Please add it to your library; the blurb is below~)
Wei Chiyi is the youngest son born to an aging general. Spoiled by his parents, he grew into an unruly, arrogant playboy who refused to be disciplined. He has an innocent face, yet does all sorts of outrageous things, from tugging the Crown Prince's tutor's beard to feeding laxatives to the Princess Royal's cat.
Everyone says he's the most dangerous stray dog in Longjing.
But Wei Chiyi alone knows that in front of one person, he's so timid he doesn't even dare wag his tail.
The current prime minister, Wen Zixu, is handsome as an immortal descended from heaven. From the first time he saw him, Wei Chiyi developed irreverent desires. Unfortunately, Wen Zixu is the most powerful minister in the land, holding sway over the entire court. He's someone Wei Chiyi can't afford to provoke just yet.
The only thing Wei Chiyi dares to do is get drunk, cling to the man's leg, and confess: "Zixu! Can I be your loyal dog?"
Wen Zixu grabs him by the back of his collar and sneers, "You're too noisy even to be a dog."
Later, when the Wei family falls, he goes from a "mad dog" to a "drowned rat." Covered in blood in the dungeon, he looks up and sees Wen Zixu, immaculate in his official robes, gazing down at him:
"Are you ready to be my loyal dog now?"
Wei Chiyi grabs the hem of his clothes, eyes red. "If you'll save me... I'll do anything."
"Remember you said that."
But who could have guessed...
He was supposed to be a dog, but on the first night, he was made to drink nuptial wine.
Wei Chiyi: "??? Is this... what a dog is supposed to drink?"
Wen Zixu chuckles. "As my pet, you'll naturally get a pet's treatment."
Before long, all of the capital knows:
The Prime Minister's residence has a fierce "dog" who bites and bares his teeth, and even sidles up to the prime minister to beg for kisses while he's reviewing official documents.
Wen Zixu scolds him, "Your handwriting is uglier than a dog's paw prints," while patiently guiding his hand to teach him how to write memorials;
He sneers, "Keep misbehaving and I'll throw you out," while hanging a wooden tag reading "I'm Number Two" around the snow leopard presented by the Western Regions.
Later, at court, someone impeaches Wei Chiyi for "disregarding the law and growing arrogant on the strength of his favor."
Wen Zixu smashes his jade tablet on the spot, his gaze cold as a blade:
"I favor him. Does anyone have a problem with that?"
The next novel, Eastward Inclination, is coming soon. Blurb:
They had nowhere else to turn, yet became each other's only light.
When he was eight, Xi Yang was sent to an orphanage.
It was the first time in his life he understood that the world really could abandon someone and leave them to fend for themselves.
That same year, he met Gu Pengfei.
Six years older than him, Gu Pengfei was the orphanage's notorious "troublemaker": he fought, stood up for his friends, and refused to answer to anyone. Yet at night, he would break their only piece of bread in half and give Xi Yang the clean half.
From that day on, Gu Pengfei became his "protector."
He also became his whole world.
Life at the orphanage was cold and harsh, but somehow they managed to carve out a little warmth together.
They took punishments together, slacked off together, and watched the stars from the old rooftop together. Gu Pengfei stood in front, and Xi Yang stayed behind him.
As if it had always been meant to be.
At eighteen, they were torn apart without warning.
Gu Pengfei's grades were at the bottom of the class. When compulsory education ended, reality pushed him out into the world. He didn't say, "I can't bear to leave you." He only said lightly, "Study hard. Don't end up like me."
Then he turned and walked into a dusty, bustling world.
He hauled cargo by day and worked overtime at night. His wages were meager, but every month he deposited money into Xi Yang's account on time.
On the phone, he always said, "I'm doing just fine."
But only Xi Yang knew what that money meant.
It meant one person had given up every other path, just to hold up another person's future.
"The world tilted long ago," Gu Pengfei once said softly. "But I choose to stand on your side."
The lights of high school, university, and the city slowly brightened. Xi Yang moved forward through his studies while Gu Pengfei ran himself ragged in the real world. Time and distance kept them apart, but they always stood on the same side.
One climbed higher, while the other held him up.
One was protected as he grew up, while the other matured through protecting him.
Until one day, Xi Yang finally stood before him and said, "This time, let me stay by your side."
Domineering, loyal-dog-like top x devoted, adorable bottom

[A few lively (and funny) everyday moments from Sharing a Bed with the Powerful Minister]
1. After Wei Chiyi gets drunk
Wen Zixu expressionlessly hauls the completely drunk Wei Chiyi back to the residence.
Wei Chiyi clings to the doorframe and wails, "I'm not leaving! I haven't confessed to Zixu yet!"
Wen Zixu: "You've already confessed seven times."
Wei Chiyi (suddenly serious): "Then did you accept?"
Wen Zixu (sneering): "The first time, you said you wanted to marry me. The second time, you said you wanted to be my dog. The third time, you said you'd lock me up..."
Wei Chiyi (eyes lighting up): "That's a good idea!"
Wen Zixu (grabbing his collar): "Back to your room. Go to sleep. Now."
2. Practicing calligraphy
Wen Zixu stares at Wei Chiyi's memorial, whose characters look like a child's scribbles.
"Rewrite it."
"I've already written it ten times..."
"Even a dog's paw prints look better than your handwriting."
Wei Chiyi leans closer. "Then how about you guide my hand, Zixu?"
Wen Zixu dips his brush in ink. "Fine. But for every stroke you get wrong, you'll practice for an extra hour tonight."
Wei Chiyi: ...Can I still run away?
3. Jealousy at court
One day at court, a young top scorer in the imperial exams glances at Wen Zixu a few times.
After court, Wei Chiyi blocks his path. "Who were you looking at just now?"
The top scorer answers nervously, "This humble official was merely admiring Prime Minister Wen's bearing..."
Wei Chiyi sneers. "His bearing? Want to see how he looks when he curses someone?"
That night, Wen Zixu sees a stack of draft memorials on his desk, all titled "On Banning Officials from Making Eye Contact with the Prime Minister," and laughs in exasperation.
4. Clingy sickbed romance
Injured and feverish, Wei Chiyi sleepily snuggles into Wen Zixu's arms.
"Zixu... I'm cold..."
Wen Zixu tucks in the blanket. "Serves you right. You shouldn't have tried to act tough."
"Hold me..."
"No."
"Kiss me..."
"Keep dreaming."
"Then I'll just stay sick..." He starts to kick off the blankets.
Wen Zixu quickly holds him down, sighs helplessly, then gently embraces him. "Just for fifteen minutes."
The guard hidden in the shadows: Prime Minister, your "fifteen minutes" have already lasted two hours...
5. About pets
A colleague gives Wen Zixu a snow leopard cub presented by the Western Regions.
Wei Chiyi treats it like a major threat, squatting in front of the cage all day and staring down the leopard.
Wen Zixu: "What are you doing?"
Wei Chiyi answers seriously, "Making sure it understands who's the real 'pet' in this house."
The next day, Wen Zixu discovers a wooden tag around the snow leopard's neck reading "I'm Number Two."
Wei Chiyi looks smug. "I taught it to read."
6. The spicy food incident
Wei Chiyi hears that spicy food makes people cry, so he adds a lethal amount of chili to Wen Zixu's soup.
Wen Zixu drinks the whole bowl without changing expression.
Wei Chiyi (expectantly): "Well? Do you feel like crying?"
Wen Zixu (calmly): "I do."
Wei Chiyi (excited): "Really?!"
Wen Zixu (smiling): "Thinking of the military treatises you'll have to copy tonight, I really do want to cry for you."
Wei Chiyi: ...
7. The height joke
Wei Chiyi discovers he's half a finger shorter than Wen Zixu and starts drinking milk like crazy.
Wen Zixu: "Stop drinking that."
Wei Chiyi: "I want to get taller!"
Wen Zixu: "And what if you do?"
Wei Chiyi (righteously): "Then I can pin you against the wall and kiss you!"
Wen Zixu silently takes away the bowl of milk. "You'll never get the chance."
(But that night, Wen Zixu tells the kitchen to serve milk with breakfast from now on.)
[Highlights]
1. This novel shares a world with The Trial of Lord and Subject.
2. Both are each other's first and only, 1v1. The top has a secret crush on the bottom, and the bottom is also fond of the top. They dote on each other.
3. A satisfying political power struggle, with the plot and romance advancing hand in hand.
Theme: Work hard and strive to succeed, and victory will come naturally.
[Purple Sugar] kswl After reading the first fourteen chapters of "Sleeping with Powerful Ministers" in one go, I felt completely bad!! It's not the uncomfortable feeling of being tortured to the point of breaking your heart, but being hit in the heart by an extreme aesthetic tension that makes you unable to recover for a long time. Who would have thought? At the beginning of the chapter, Wei Chiyi, who got drunk and went crazy at the Shiweitian Restaurant, and cursed the eldest princess without any words, and at the end, the "lackey" who was chained and kneeling in the Tianlao but had clear eyes, turned out to be the same person. And that Wen Xiang, who was always meticulous and made all the difference in the court, would actually cry alone in the study over a painting from many years ago. Where is this simple Machiavellian writing? It was clearly a carefully arranged soul game. The main body of the plot uses three deadly moves to firmly bind my emotions to this young couple. Killing move 1: Personality - Who says powerful officials can't fall in love? The author really wrote the character Wen Zixu extremely well. On the surface, he is the deputy king of the Dragon Kingdom, in charge of the emperor's jade pendant, and even the prince must show courtesy to him. Above the court, he calmly laid out the plans, and a single sentence could determine the life or death of a family. But who would have thought that such a powerful figure would have a dewy peony in his study? Will they treasure the picture scroll from when they first met seven years ago? Would he inadvertently move the candlestick towards Wei Chiyi when he was teaching him the art of war? The most amazing thing is the scene in the prison in Chapter 14. Wen Zixu asked Wei Chiyi to "be my dog" in front of officials from the Ministry of Justice. This sounds so humiliating, but when I read it carefully, I almost shed tears. Where is the humiliation in this? It's clearly protection dancing on the edge of a knife. Everyone in the court wanted Wei Chiyi to die, but only Wen Zixu used this almost self-destructive method to snatch Wei Chiyi's life back from the dead end. "Your life is mine, your hatred is mine, and your grievances are also mine." - This is probably the most domineering confession in ancient literature, right? Wei Chiyi's transformation is even more heartbreaking and gratifying. From "Longjing's No. 1 Dandy" to "Wen Xiang's lackey", what he lost was his false reputation, but what he found was himself. That kneeling was not about dignity, but the wisdom to live, and the forbearance of "a gentleman's revenge is never too late". When he was covered in blood but with clear eyes and said "I am willing to be the lackey of Prime Minister Wen", this character really stood up. He is no longer the young man who only drank to drown his sorrows, but a warrior who has seen the reality clearly and chosen the most difficult path. Killing Trick Two: Plot - You think you are looking at power and intrigue, but in fact you are looking at people's hearts. The plot line of "Sleeping with Power" is the most solid I have seen in recent years. There are no inexplicable cheats, no sudden assists, and every turn is traceable. The eldest princess's "gentle knife" worked step by step. From the rumors of alleged marriage to the Hanguan injustice case, she accurately calculated people's hearts and the situation, and even predicted that Wen Zixu would be soft-hearted towards Wei Chiyi. This kind of opponent is so terrifying. Instead of confronting you head-on, she will force you into a desperate situation with a smile. But what fascinates me even more is the emotional core beneath the Machiavellian shell. Why did Wen Zixu teach Wei Chi Yi the art of war? Is it really just to repay the kindness of the past? The unfinished painting in Chapter 10 revealed everything - for seven years, he had painted the moment when the young man saved him over and over again, and there was a sentence like "One look, cut into pieces" beside the painting. What's this? This is the seven-year secret love of the powerful minister, my friends! And those correspondences. "It's bitterly cold in the cold, so be kind and cherish it" "When the spring is deep, I'll wait for you to return" - Did you know what you were talking about when you wrote the letter? How does this show concern from superiors to subordinates? She clearly has the mentality of a wife who is waiting for her sweetheart to come home (I really am not a dunk!). The most cruel thing is that when Wen Zixu was crying in the study, Wei Chiyi was suffering in the cell with a blood-stained handkerchief in his arms. And that handkerchief was the one he used to wipe away the ink marks on Wen Zixu. This sense of fate that goes in both directions but goes wrong makes one's heart stop. The third trick: details - the devil is in the cracks of words The author is absolutely detail-oriented. At the beginning, Wei Chiyi scolded the eldest princess, "How can her age and appearance be worthy of the amazing talent and beauty of Wen Xiang?" These words are so childish and reckless. But later, when I heard that Zixu denied the engagement in public and specifically explained it to Wei Chiyi, I suddenly understood!! Wei Chiyi's ridiculous words and deeds, aren't they a clumsy confession like "Look, I even dare to scold the princess for you"? There is also the image of "ink marks". Chapter 9 Wei Chiyi wipes the ink marks on Wen Zixu's face, which is the first time the two have physical contact in the whole novel. Later, when Wei Chiyi fled, he always had the handkerchief in his arms. Later, the handkerchief was stained with blood and returned to Wen Zixu's hands. This Fang Supa became the physical evidence of the relationship between the two, silent but deafening. Peony flowers are used throughout. When we first met, the streets were filled with the fragrance of peony. When we apologized, we had peony branches in front of our lapels. In the study, peony was placed in a vase. Finally, the petals fell on the unfinished letter... As the flowers bloomed and fell, the fate of the two people also fluctuated. Conclusion: This is not a sadistic novel, it is an adult love story Some people say that "Sleeping with Powerful Ministers" is too cruel, and Wei Chiyi is too miserable. But I think this is the most precious thing about this article. It is not about fairy tale love, but the emotional choices of adults under the pressure of reality. Wen Zixu's love is a responsibility that he knows he can't do. He used the coldest and hardest way to protect the person who was the softest in his heart. Behind the phrase "Be my dog" is the oath "From now on, your life and death, honor and disgrace, will be tied to me." Wei Chiyi's love is a sober choice after going through hardships. He put down his pride and dignity, not to surrender, but to live. Only by living can he wash away his grievances, live to return to that person, and live to make the promise of "I will wait for you to return when spring is deep" into reality. So, stop saying this is abuse. This is clearly the mutual recognition of two souls in troubled times: You are my only weakness in the light of swords and shadows, and I am your final destination after being covered with scars. Author, please bear with me. In fourteen chapters, you wrote an unforgettable world. Now I just want to ask: when will it be updated? How to clear Wei Chiyi's grievances? How can Wen Xiang break the situation? What other methods will the eldest princess use? And most importantly!!! When will that painting be delivered to the right person? Random thoughts: Wen Xiang, Wen Xiang, if you had admitted your feelings earlier, why would Young Master Wei suffer so much? But having said that, if there were no such hardships, how would you show how precious your words "be my dog" are? Is this the omen of the legendary "Abusing a husband feels good for a while, chasing him to the crematorium" (but it seems that Wei Chiyi came over without chasing him, haha)? I have tissues ready and waiting for the follow-up!
