Poems of Confession

Lin Qingyu has a secret:

He keeps ninety-nine piano pieces locked in his heart, along with a boy who will be eighteen forever.

Everyone says he lives in the past. Only the senior from the mechanical engineering department says:

“Your poems are beautiful, but the person writing them is falling apart.”

Yang Tianhang has a secret:

He has read every poem Lin Qingyu ever published, and filled a notebook with his annotations.

Everyone says they don't belong in the same world. Only he knows:

“Mechanics and lines of poetry can fit together perfectly.”

When machine oil from the repair shop stains a poem:

Lin Qingyu: “You got my poem dirty.”

Yang Tianhang: “I signed it.”

When a heartbeat finds its rhythm in the dead of night:

Lin Qingyu: “Do you understand what I'm writing?”

Yang Tianhang: “Yes. You're writing, ‘Please save me.’”
