[Western Crossover] From Burial to Godhood: A Management Sim

The male lead has no romantic pairing. All relationships are familial or platonic. During summer break, Helaire picked up a life-simulation game. His goal was to start by running a run-down bar, make a fortune, and aim for the title of richest man in the world. The game's art was polished and the story fast-paced. The only issue was that it was a little too difficult. At the start of the game, the bar got trashed every other day, ruining all of Helaire's hard work. After some serious thought, he decided he couldn't overlook security. He grinded side quests for tokens, opened the recruitment system, and entered the card-pool screen. [System notification: You recruited an SR card: Second Robin, Damaged Version (Can Evolve)] [System notification: Evolution material: Crowbar. Obtain it by farming the Joker stage in the Arkham resource dungeon.] Helaire: I don't know why this feels so messed up. And wasn't this supposed to be a management mobile game? Why is there a resource dungeon? Is this just another reskinned gacha game??? Still, he was here now, so he might as well. With that mindset, Helaire sacrificed his health to the grind, suffering but enjoying himself. By the end of summer, Helaire had successfully reached an ending. Unfortunately, he hadn't managed to turn his little bar into a fortune and become Gotham's richest man. But... Looking at the string of achievements on the list, [Night Watchman], [Scythe of Order], [Flowers Bloom from White Bones], [Throne of Thorns]... Helaire fell silent. * Other people's management sims: Buy stock - sell goods - expand the shop Helaire's management sim: Sell drinks - almost get beaten up - go exploring - almost get beaten up - take on a ridiculous commission just to sell drinks - risk life and limb and nearly get a game over - try to recruit bodyguards - get a dud from the card pool Key points: Take a commission - risk life and limb Helaire: ... Helaire: I'm just a bartender. Customer support, are you there? Do you even remember what kind of game this is? If I'd known full-dive management sims were so unreliable, I should've bought that pixel-art platformer on the shelf to the right! * Gotham, a city renowned for its darkness, has plenty of urban legends of its own. The most famous one in recent decades is a bar at an unknown address. Countless dignitaries have failed to find it, and everyone who has ever passed through the fog to enter it keeps quiet about what they saw. They say that drinking bloodwine can take you to the other side of the world. They say that offering up your flesh and soul can grant your deepest, most persistent wish. Helaire says: It's because of you people spreading rumors that I can't sell a single drink! Helaire says: Let me make this clear again: my drinks meet food safety regulations, and I don't take souls here. What kind of new dine-and-dash scam is this? Jason, if anyone refuses to pay, throw them out!!! Jason: Yes, boss. By the way, Oswald asked me to report that we've reached an eighty percent market share at Gotham's port and casinos. Jason: Also, Black Mask just got a new shipment at the port. He refused to let us inspect the crates, so we've detained him and the goods. We expect our market share to reach ninety percent next week. Helaire: ? * Bruce met Helaire in his twenties. By the time he'd adopted several young birds, they'd known each other for more than a decade and been through a lot together. Bruce had always believed that this young man, who was average in physical ability but kind and just, would become one of Gotham's brightest beacons. Especially after Helaire found out Bruce was Batman, Helaire became one of the few people Bruce could confide in, and the friend he trusted most. That was until Bruce began investigating the new dark overlord of Gotham, who had replaced Falcone and the Court of Owls. Bruce: ...? * The question marks won't disappear. They'll only change hands. The Riddler may end up the biggest winner. Reading guide: 1. OOC warning. Expect plenty of personal headcanons. 2. After every incident, the timeline will jump forward significantly because the protagonist is AFK (not really). 3. A big mix of universes and characterizations. Penguin and Riddler use the Gotham TV series versions. Bruce is a mix of the main comics, Ben Affleck's Batman, comic Batman, and Lego Batman (but his characterization definitely won't be as ridiculous as DC's). In short, it's a total mashup. 4. This is an unconventional management sim. The management gameplay and side quests will probably be about a fifty-fifty split. 5. The protagonist is in a pseudo-order faction. He's not a good person, but he won't do anything too nasty. 6. The superheroes discover his secret identity close to the ending. It won't be awkward, or I'll be even more embarrassed than the protagonist. Coming soon: [Western Crossover] Monthly Missions: All Clear Ludwig Carro awakened an ability to travel through time and space as he was dying. He thought he would finally escape the shadow of the Dragon Head War, but instead he landed in the middle of a desert. A terrorist organization's base was less than a hundred meters in front of him. A patrolman was about to turn around, and there wasn't a single sand dune to hide behind for ten miles. Carro: Oh no, I'm about to get killed the moment I spawn. At the last second, a line of text appeared before his eyes: This month's game has refreshed. Monthly mission list refreshed. [PLAYER ONE] welcomes you back. He is a native of the world of Bungo Stray Dogs who transmigrated, but aside from the setting, there are no other crossover-anime elements in the novel. If you prefer, you can just think of his ability as a System. This is a lighthearted, brainless wish-fulfillment story. Map order: Desert - New York - League of Assassins - Gotham - Star City - Metropolis The abilities and settings in each game have been altered, and the timeline and plot have also been changed in subtle ways. Theme: Every hardship will come to an end
