From This Moment, I’m in Love

[HE, not BE]

When Ruan Qingjia was in college, she dated Liang Jingmo for a while and got a taste of a dazzling, dreamlike life of luxury and excess.

Later, they broke up, and it was fairly amicable.

The reason was simple: she needed a whole lot of love, and he couldn't give it to her. He had a whole lot of money, but she didn't want that.

She returned all the diamond jewelry and luxury goods he had given her, then smiled at him with pursed lips, as gentle and shy as she had been when they first met. She thanked him for giving her a journey through a chapter of her life.

"Goodbye." Her voice was very soft. She lifted her face and called him by his name for the first time. "Liang Jingmo."

Years later, they met again on the campus where they had first crossed paths.

She was lost in the crowd.

He had been invited to attend a finance forum hosted by the college. He should have been surrounded by admirers, but instead he stood listlessly at the very edge of the crowd, eyes lowered as he smoked in silence.

Pale blue smoke drifted around his face, his expression weary and detached.

He turned his head, suddenly saw her, froze for a moment, then unconsciously curved his lips into a smile.

Ruan Qingjia remembered the day they first met.

He had been the scholarship donor, and she was there to receive an award. She stepped onto the stage, only to realize with embarrassment that a button had come off her ill-fitting shirt, right over her chest. The tips of her ears turned red as she lowered her head helplessly.

After she left the stage, his secretary quietly came over and gave her a long coat without saying anything more.

A belated wave of sadness suddenly rose in her. Only then did she realize that, somehow, she had always been the one to decide when their relationship began and ended.

And he had always indulged her, never once putting up a fight.

Sensitive and reserved x gentle and devoted. A short, relationship-focused second-chance romance, just over a hundred thousand characters.
