The Demonic Consort Ascended After Her Kingdom Fell

After successfully bringing down the kingdom of Zhao, Yaoyao became known as the demon concubine who ruined the nation.

She stole the nation's fortune in pursuit of immortality, causing the emperor's death. In the end, she was killed when the furious State Preceptor and Daoist practitioners ganged up on her.

People cursed her whenever they spoke of her. She was a cunning, fickle, ruthless and vicious woman.

She bewitched the king, told nothing but lies, and stopped at nothing...

Before she died, someone asked her if she regretted it.

Yaoyao chuckled. "What would I regret? Ruining the nation and seducing the ruler, coveting the path to immortality, or even killing my own husband with my own hands?"

No, she had no regrets.

She only regretted that she had not been more cautious, more clever, more decisive.

If she got another life, she would be more hypocritical, more calculating, and better at putting on an act.

There was nothing wrong with being a scheming villainess.

Jin, the son of the Human Emperor, descended to the mortal realm to undergo a trial. Though born with the destiny of an emperor, he lost his kingdom because of a woman.

Later, he met that woman again. As he watched her lie dying in his arms, begging him to save her, he gripped her chin and ultimately chose to forgive her:

"Give me the answer I want, and I won't hold it against you that I spent a thousand years missing you. I'll forget how much I once loved you. Perhaps we can start over."

Theme: People can triumph over fate. Never submit to the destiny already laid out for you.
