In the spring of Interstellar Year 15, Luo Ke, a top student in the mecha design department at the Federal Interstellar Academy, discovered a dying little kitten in an alien nest. Kindhearted Luo Ke rescued it and named it Yuanyuan, hoping it would grow up healthy and chubby.

Not long after bringing Yuanyuan home, one day the men's dorm in Building 11 erupted in chaos when an adorable baby appeared in the hallway, crying and looking for his dad.

"Holy crap! Which one of you guys already has a kid?"

"Hey, does anyone have milk? Bring some down for the baby!"

"Make way, I've got candy. Let me comfort him!"

Ten minutes later, Yuanyuan had been calmed down enough to sniffle and wipe the tears from his eyes. He took a photo from his little pocket and said in a soft, tearful voice, "Daddy, find."

When the guys in the dorm saw the photo, they let out a chorus of wails...

"Isn't this Luo Ke, the handsome top student in our mecha design department? This makes no sense! How did an ice-cold guy have a kid?"

Luo Ke, who had been single for twenty years, had recently experienced two things that felt like magical realism.

First: His little kitten turned into a toddler.

Second: A DNA test from the hospital showed that Yuanyuan was his biological son.

His responsibility had changed from raising a cat to raising a child. Parenting classes, little outfits, and toddler food drained what little money Luo Ke had in his wallet.

Just as Luo Ke was preparing to live on dirt to raise his kid, an unexpected visitor arrived outside his dorm.

The handsome man wore a crisp military uniform, and seeing that face, once so familiar from Interstellar military news, left Luo Ke dazed.

The man's deep eyes rested on Luo Ke. "Nice to meet you. I'm Lu Mingyao."

Lu Mingyao was an Interstellar marshal with countless military honors, the strongest mecha pilot of his generation. He had once ventured alone into a heavily contaminated zone, fought the four Contamination Kings single-handedly, and liberated countless contaminated star systems. He was a famous hero throughout the Interstellar worlds.

But hadn't the news said he'd gone completely insane after his mindscape collapsed?

Luo Ke tensed and quietly stepped back, but the kid didn't share his concerns!

At the familiar voice, Yuanyuan nimbly climbed down from the bed, pattered to the door in his slippers, and held out his little hands to Lu Mingyao. "Yay, uncle, hold me!"

Lu Mingyao picked up the soft, adorable child he'd been longing for and took out a stack of documents. "The mainframe notified me that I need to fulfill my parental companionship duty. Here's the DNA comparison result I received. Please take a look."

Luo Ke's pupils shook. "...???"

Hearing the child whimpering sadly in his mindscape, the marshal, whom the hospital had declared unlikely to wake up anytime soon, immediately performed a medical miracle.

Lu Mingyao opened his eyes in the medical pod, with only one thought in his mind.
