Officer Karasuma Doesn't Want to Break Up

[Next up: "The Literary Greats Come from Meteor Street," shou-centric, Ayatsuji pairing, ongoing]

#Also known as "The Bane of Conan-Style Detectives" and "The Bane of Red-and-Black Faction Players"#

Nan Sen Taichi, the youngest-ever second-in-command of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's Criminal Affairs Bureau, is a shining star of the police force with maxed-out investigative skills. His true identity is the adopted son of a certain distillery's boss, the deepest undercover trump card in the Red Faction, codenamed White (white spirit).

Nan Sen Taichi thinks he's lucky.

He fell in love at first sight with a cafe waiter.

As it happened, the waiter was also an executive at his own distillery.

They were mutually in love and lived happily ever after, making everyone around them jealous.

But before long, he received a warning from Gin.

A group of genuine-liquor players at the distillery were trying to kill him.

Another group of fake-liquor players were trying to screw him over.

Genuine-liquor players: He's dating Bourbon, so he must be a Red Faction dog.

Fake-liquor players: He's dating Bourbon, so he must be a Black Faction dog.

Nan Sen: ...Time to clean house.

#

The next boss of the distillery was seeing red.

He cut down one wave of players after another, sending them packing in droves.

Then his smoking-hot lover came clean.

He had only dated him because he thought he was a real bottle of liquor.

Nan Sen: ...Well, this is how a breakup happens, isn't it?

Bourbon: Actually, I'm fake. I'm a Public Security officer.

Nan Sen: (without hesitation) Great! I'm fake too. I'm a bona fide, upstanding police officer. :)

The weather's turned cold. Time for the distillery to shut down.

One-line summary: A true liquor goes straight for love.

Reading guide:

1. This is an IF story based on "The Bane of Conan-Style Detectives." No characters are vilified or made stupid.

2. The players come from the Saiki K. universe (not the real world), and none of them have read the original. The male lead is a local, a brainy type, and his true-liquor identity is never exposed.

3. 1v1 throughout, pairing with Furuya Rei, age gap with the shou younger, no competing love interests.

4. I just want to try writing a ruthless true-liquor character who is reformed by love and beats the players at their own game.

5. The male lead has never carried out an organization mission. He's a classic case of turning red after being black for too long. All members of the police academy group survive.

6. Readers who are strict about the original, please don't read. The author is sensitive, so if you don't like it, just leave without telling me. This is a fictional story; please don't compare it to real life. Any resemblance is purely coincidental.

[This story will be marked as premium on October 17, 2022. I'll post ten thousand characters a day and update daily. Writing isn't easy, so please support the official version (heart). Since some readers only read reaction stories, the anti-piracy ratio has been reduced from 80% to 60%.]
